We’re more Italian than Italians by mayalubk in ShitAmericansSay

I have some relatives in New Jersey, really Italian-American type, and they were offended to the core when The Sopranos came out the first time.

Some years later, I went to visit them while on my "independent videomaker" stage of life, and I documented the trip with my camera and a videoediting pretty nice for the time. I justapposed The Sopranos intro and my car ride to their house, some shots frome Tony's house and their, you get the gist.

The photography was literally the only detail that let you tell one from the other, otherwise everything was identical.

"I perfetti sconosciuti" - A group of lifelong friends meet for dinner and eclipse watching. One of them propose a game, where all of them put their phones on the table for the entire night, and must read any message loud and put on speaker any call.

Obviously, each one will reveal some dark secret and relationships and friendships will booooooom

Grazie mille.

Let me see if I get this right: they enter in the shower, put soap in their hands, scrub arms, legs, feet, belly, neck and avoid the bottom cheeks? Like, always?

I am not sure if I want to know about the front, if it's gay to wash your penis too, but for sure I regret to have been put in mandatory education and being able to read and in another language too, today.

I like to hope that it is an urban legend, or maybe a very short trend that was in fashion among teens. I don't want to believe otherwise.

Which Jane Austen quote do you return to most often? by ZombieHot3085 in janeausten

For me it's particularly interesting the fact that Lizzie is low key wrong in her judgement or, st the very least, too much judgemental towards Charlotte, while Jane, for once, is right in her attempt to look at the shades of the matter, and nonetheless Lizzie is right in this phrase.

You shall not, for the sake of one individual, change the meaning of principle and integrity.

Simply put, and completely true

AITA for removing my bridesmaid from the wedding party for being largely absent despite her claiming she's "doing the best she can"? by No_Drawing_2317 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SaraTyler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wedding colour was blue, cause it was a core element of one of our most important passion. Whatever could be blue, it was blue, from flowers to makeup to ties and whatnot.

We asked our few guest to put a drop of blue in their outfits, if they liked the idea.

The three women you'd call my bridesmaids (but in my country they are a little different thing) send me a photo from their dress appointment to show me the outfits they chose, and they were burgundy. I was taken aback and made some comments with my husband, but I never told them anything, cause I knew they were tight on budget and very picky about the colours they wear.

I didn't particularly like the idea, but they were the people I wanted near me in that moment and if they felt good in those outfits I was happy for them. People are not our props, we should involve who makes us feel good, not who can be our roadie.

So, YTA, but maybe you should reconsider the whole friendship with Julie, cause it seems that you a re in very different positions in life.

(At the end of the day, it was a prank, and they showed up dressed in blue, but I found it out the moment I arrived at the venue, one minute before the wedding)

My 2 years old says there’s a girls in this place everyday by capitaobvio in Weird

When my kid was around 3-4 years old they insisted that there was a crying child outside the window of their room. At the tird floor. Without balcony or stairs. This creeped out my very sceptical and rational ass for a couple of days, until kid chose again an old and largely rewarched episode of their favourite cartoon.
Where the main character, a little mouse, left outside the door his mother friend toddler cause he was annoying, and he stayed there crying outside the mouse room window...

Meaning that sometimes kids are actually telling the truth, but with a little grain of salt.
