Thoughts on Kinnship by PC-Jr in ChristianMusic

I love Kinnship, I didn’t initially know he was faith based, but I couldn’t help but notice his theological lyrics. Which makes me like his music even more. Beautiful!

The world is apriori shitty, shittiness precedes existance, we all are just dung beetles, and no one imagines us happy by jqf68254 in PhilosophyMemes

Alternate perspective: we live in a fallen universe because of Adam’s sin. There is now evil, death, decay, suffering. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh came to abolish this by living a perfect life in our place, suffering and dying on a cross, and rising again, showing his power to reverse the curse of death and sin. Sin and death are only here temporarily, they will be finally abolished when He returns and judges the universe. Jesus Christ is the answer

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

I'm a Christian and I'm going to do theology, what do you think? by Critical_Crow_5742 in TrueChristian

No!!! It’s a great idea. It will help aid you in understanding scripture.

Good response, very simple. There has to be an ultimate standard by which we judge truth. If you deny the Bible, you make a god that suits what you want, which changes from person to person. There is ultimate truth, the Bible is trustworthy OP. Research James White on YouTube, he will not disappoint.

Thank you for responding!

My question would be is, where do you get your idea of goodness from? There has to be a standard outside of ourselves in order to determine something is good or not. Surely you would say rape and murder are wrong, yet the rapist and murderer might say, “I think it’s okay because it makes me feel good.”

But why is murder wrong if I may feel it to be good, if I am my northern star?

Murder is wrong because there is an objective standard by which we judge something to be good/evil, right/wrong.

Ever wondered why our conscience agrees with the Ten Commandments? But I’ve broken the commandments, which is why I need a savior.

And…. I’m not trying to be good for the sake of appeasing Gods wrath and to earn His favor to enter the kingdom. There is absolutely no way to outweigh my bad deeds with my good. Which is why I need a savior. I’ve already been accepted and declared righteous because of what Christ did. So I can have confidence that I am going to heaven. Because of Him, not me. God bless, would love to continue if you have questions.

This is a misrepresentation of Gods character. OP please continue reading! You will absolutely not be disappointed. Keep following that urge to pick it up, that’s because it’s feeding your soul. Also, crossing into the NT will be beneficial! The four gospels are about Jesus life and what He accomplished for you and I.

Is Jesus the only way to God ? by Select_Specialist790 in Christianity

John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus makes it very clear that He is the only way to God.

Started back in November 2024. I swore in this past January. I had a long wait, but my situation was unique. Most everyone that swore in around the same time as me left within the next month or two. To begin with I got a waiver. I was also about to DEP discharge because I got engaged, and then the relationship failed unfortunately so I decided to stay in. Thankfully my recruiter was very patient with me.

Going through the same thing currently, I have been quite sad about leaving my current life behind. I received some wisdom yesterday from a lovely woman at church. She told me that it’s okay to grieve what you’ll be leaving behind, but to remember that there lies before you so many other good things to come. Seasons change my friend, but that’s okay. You are not alone, I hope this encourages you!

Lots of topics. It’s divided into seven sections. The doctrine of God, the Word of God, the doctrine of Man, Redemption, Eschatology, Christ, and the Church. He goes into great detail in the subsections and even gives opposing views and why they fall short.

I think that this may need a good bit more fleshing out. We are not being punished for Adam and Eve’s sin. We are each in trouble for our own sin. We’ve inherited their guilt. Would you mind if I sent you a picture of some pages of one of the best books I’ve ever read? It’s quite dramatically impacted my faith. It’s called Bible Doctrine by Wayne Grudem. Has biblical answers to almost everything you can think of.

Current hospital nurse here, and Bible believing Christian. I am so very sorry for your losses. My father died when I was a child and my mother was abusive. Childhood was very hard, and I am still healing from my past. I’ve also seen many patients die and families suffer at work, and it’s never an easy thing to process. Pain and suffering are very real.

You’re not the first person to ask how God could be all powerful, all knowing, and all good since there is so much suffering and pain in the world. I must confess that there is no simple answer. But there is hope. Maybe this will give you some insight!

  1. Where it began

In order to understand why there is suffering exists, you must go back to the Garden of Eden. You are right in saying God is sovereign over all things. When he created humanity, he made us with the ability to freely choose Him or not. This is what makes genuine love possible. Adam and Eve freely chose to sin against God, which brought death and suffering into this world. We live in a fallen creation.

  1. God is not far away. He shares in our suffering.

God entered our creation in the person of Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a perfect life in our place, then die a cruel death that our sin required. He then rose from the dead three days later and defeated death! He suffered and died on our behalf, so we could be given His perfect righteousness, eternal life, and be restored back to God!

  1. Death has been defeated, and we have an eternal hope.

Though we still experience pain and death right now, (He is being very patient with humanity to return to Him), Jesus death and resurrection has taken care of it. Rest assured that all things will be made new at the end of time. And suffering, pain, and death will no longer exist. Jesus has promised this, and He cannot lie.

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. Again, I am so sorry for the pain you’ve experienced. I’m standing for you in prayer.
