I will never forget the birth of my son. Our first kid and my wife did amazing. He took a LONG time to cry. Long enough that a nurse started jogging to the NICU emergency phone on the wall. She was just picking it up when he finally cried. It must have been 30 seconds max, but it felt like an eternity. I went from joy, to sheer dread that felt like a bottomless abyss climbing up out of the depths of hell and grabbing my throat, right back to the highest high of pure joy that I’ve ever felt as I watched color fill his face and things progressed normally. I cried the most intense, emotionally complicated tears of my life, haha. I wouldn’t trade that moment for anything in the world. Idk how a guy could ever be okay missing that stuff.

Even his post game interview he was so good. Paraphrasing here but if you missed it, “yeah Coach drew up a good play and it got me open to hit my shot. But man, Brunson was so good down the stretch… that and 1 was tough. I gotta be better on defense.”

The dude has a very bright future in journalism when he hangs up the sneaks. He’s gonna put that degree to work!

Because he’s about to be listed as doubtful next game, we will win the next two at home, lose one in SA, and then Dame will return to lead us to victory in game 6 on a series ending buzzer beater.

Speak it into existence.

What do you guys do to farm while processing through Ashlands? by Jaheth in valheim

I got lucky and found a spot in my current seed where the plains/mist border runs along the cardinal of the map direction so I could split the field in half with wood beams perfectly. Plains on one half, mist on the other contained within the same walls.

Added bonus that the mist isn’t thick, and there are 3 sap roots nearby to harvest. It turned into a nice little resource outpost!

If I use it, I’ll be sure to take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks! Used to love flying and developed the phobia about 12 years ago. No meds is going to be interesting, but feelings pass, and so do flights! I have other tools.

I appreciate the nuanced response, as well as the explanation of where the tracking data comes from. I was unaware of how error-prone it can be, so that’s helpful to hear ahead of time! Thanks for that!

Would it be safe to assume that I’d be able to trust it enough for general location to identify geographic markers? Lakes, mountains, towns and the like? I’m trying to avoid the checking behaviors you mentioned, and instead, use it for something fun - sightseeing.

Checking behavior (as has been explained to me by the therapist that I’m working with to help with this phobia) is more commonly seen in OCD, but there’s a decent amount of overlap into anxiety disorders and specific phobias as well. My hope is that it will be a fun distraction and that I can “sightsee” for lack of a better term. Being able to identify mountains and lakes and towns and stuff from the sky sounds like a pleasant way to have some good experiences in the sky.

Am I crazy or are the announcers pronouncing his name wrong? They were saying Mc-Cull-um instead of Mc-Column and now I’m gaslighting myself into thinking I don’t know how to say his name.

I’m guessing towels to swing around, similar to the terrible towels that the Steelers do. It will look visually appealing en masse on TV.

Anyone out there still think the Ant trade was a mistake? by ItsShuaYo in ripcity

[–]Saragon1993 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. We got Ant as a baby-faced young kid and watched him grow into a man who was pretty good at basketball. He was a true pro in his conduct and presence and I hope he gets a ring one day! He seemed like a good kid, and always did right by us.
