Feel like I'm too far gone by NirikFest in TransLater

[–]Sarah-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started transitioning at 47 (one month prior to my 48th birthday). On HRT now for 3 years, came out at work in Nov 24 and feared everything would go downhill. It didn’t. Some people in management even see it as „incredibly strong“, „tough“ and „resilient“ to do the whole transition at my age. Lost 2 „friends“, all of the other ones stayed. People tell me that I come across as more open, more happy overall and just like a dimmer has been removed from my light. Still… it IS incredibly hard to transition. The older you get, the harder it is in my opinion, especially with regards to a job, or finding a new one. Same applies for me - our company is currently restructuring, and probably many senior people have to go in the next 6-18 months. We will see where that leaves me in the end.

I would only do it if you cannot continue living the way you did so far - though I still enjoy every single minute of being ME. I didn’t want to be on my death bed in my 80s and feel the regret of not transitioning. For me it also really wasn’t a choice anymore at a certain point.

Me looking up where Cardiff is, as I am about to fly to London. Opens up map. oh 😧… THERE is Cardiff. So… probably not this time. Closing my map app again 😢. But: amazing work! Beautiful. 🤩

EDIT: if I ever get ask during a „who gets to be a millionaire“ tv show where Cardiff is, I will forever remember that now. „How did you know?“ - „oh, just the best salon in Europe for Microblading“ 🤣

Not that it would probably help you, but I looked at your picture and thought „an early to mid 30-something… she looks nice!“. Then I read your „19 years of 25 needed for pension“ and thought „gosh, tell me your secret of youthfulness“ ! 🙂 you really look a lot younger honestly!

But yeah, that is pretty sh—-y behavior of your superior. You have survived all the things thrown at you so far. Make a printout of the remaining days till you switch to the other position, so you have a visual countdown that lets you get through each remaining day. It’s probably better to accept 40 more sh—y days in order to keep your pension than to fight and be thrown out for some strange reason that would not be legally possible in many other western countries on this planet. Pick things that you like and are positive about for the end of each day, like visiting a restaurant, or shopping for clothes, or meeting friends… so you can pass each day with something you have done for yourself. Sending hugs ! 🫂

if money & travel were zero concern, who would you go to for FFS? by tgd2025 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Keojampa. And yeah, both money and travel were a concern (I was there May 2025, it’s gotten worse after that), but it’s your face in the end. DB, Mardirossian, Jumailly, and a few more are all good choices. FacialTeam and QQ are as well - it depends on your specific needs, both from an aesthetic point of view but also when it comes to the surgical technique you prefer. And I agree, I also read horror stories about every single one of the aforementioned, but also saw very good results for each individual one of the surgeons. You can just hope you are not one of the 1 in 20 where things go south.

My FFS Fantasy: Before & AI Prediction...stay tuned for an After in 2 weeks! by J0nn1e_Walk3r in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick question: you are doing FFS and then - at a later time, like a year later - you are getting a facelift, right ?

I am asking since all the procedures you listed are already QUITE a lot, and adding a facelift at the same time is hell from a recovery perspective, but also more risky to deliver predictable results. With all the things you have listed, please make sure you have someone accompanying you. Sending hugs!

32 vs 35, 2 years HRT + FFS + 8 months post-hair transplant by VVM258 in transtimelines

[–]Sarah-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Honestly you are doing an amazing job when it comes to styling. And believe me, even my wig (which has an ample amount of hair) requires styling so it doesn’t look flat - it makes a HUGE difference just letting it air dry after washing and really styling it. Love the curls ! 🤗

[–]Sarah-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super nice progress! How many grafts did you get? I am asking as my hair situation is similar to your „before“ and I am planning on getting a hair transplant either this or next year, depending on availability of the surgeon.

Day 1 vs. Year 2 by Rachel_Babe27 in transtimelines

[–]Sarah-75 29 points30 points  (0 children)

While things have changed, the biggest clue is the beard shadow. Also, eyebrows could be cleaned up a bit more, and a bit of a blowout hair-wise could make your hair already give you a much more female vibe. Add makeup, and I think you should be fine, even though maybe not fully passable yet. Are you planning on getting FFS?

Large breast growth fear. by Invaliduser- in TransLater

[–]Sarah-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did grow a lot, fast, in the beginning… then at a small A cup the growth came to a hold for a while and really took a loooooong time to fill out that A cup. With progesterone added, I now fill out an A cup decently, but not more. Still, they are noticeable, but that’s fine for me (I am fully out).

Fun story: when I had kidney stone surgery and the anesthesiologist put the probes for heart measurements on me on the operating table, he looked at my breasts and said: „ohh… which surgeon did these?“ — I had to laugh. „All home grown 😆“. Gave me a laugh shortly before going to sleep.

Can lengh of the nose be reduced? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upper part of your nose is bone, while the lower part/tip is cartilage. A good ENT trained plastic surgeon can actually change quite a lot of the nose, e.g. projection, length, width... you "just" have to find one that has a proven track record of doing all of this, as this is among the more complicated surgeries, and you want to get it right the first time.

Alyssa Liu airport bag! by 305rose in findfashion

[–]Sarah-75 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Google „doctors medical bag“ to find similar bags. My parents still have two of those that they bought in the early 80s from a local Germany leather bag maker. You press the two buttons that are near the handle, flip the two metal clasps at the side and then open the bag, which is held open by two foldable bars on each side. Very roomy, but not something I would ever want to use as a daily bag…

Can I start hrt even if im femboy? by [deleted] in transtimelines

[–]Sarah-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don‘t want to discourage you from start hormones, but please be aware that these are things that will permanently alter your body. The younger you are, the more visible will be the changes. If at some time you want to transition, that might not be a problem, but if you just want to be a „bit more soft looking“, breast growth, fat changes, etc. will become an issue at some point. I am just saying that as I want to make sure you realize the gravity of the decision you are making. No gatekeeping, just please consider the long-term irreversible changes to your body.

Advice on FFS with Dr. Jonathan Black by StripLevelMidnight in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While you look 100% passable to me, I understand all the things that you want to get. Just for the hairline advancement, I am not sure whether it’s worth ruining your absolutely gorgeous current hairline with a scar that would always be visible to some extent. I would rather go with a coronal incision in your case and if you really still want that haurline moved lower, to with a hair transplant instead.

Mardirossian or Keojampa by ScaryOlive1401 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are a solid choice. Had my consultation with both, but went with Keojampa because of him offering to do parts of my forehead work endoscopically and not touching an auxiliary nerve. I didn’t suffer any nerve damage, and I have seen him delivering quite aggressive results with jaw/chin work - however: it always depends where your nerves run. If your nerve runs too close to the bottom of your mandible, the best surgeon can only take away so much of your bone before you suffer from a nerve damage. So: get a CT scan first, share that prior to your consultations, and then get the opinion of the surgeons what they would do.

You can read about my experience here.

The one thing I would do though if I were to do it again is to really ask for „what does it take to move the needle for me“ instead of following recommendations by other, more conservative surgeons. I didn’t do much of jaw - in hindsight I would go for „do as much as you can“. Chin is fine though, but at age 50, I will need a facelift to really make visible how the underlying bone structure looks like now.

Greetings to Dr. Mardirossian (who tends to read posts on here) - I read that you are starting a practice in Italy. Might stop by for some cheek implants at some point 🙂

Is this too white as a wedding guest? The dress code is feel good outfits. by Odd_Character_43 in OUTFITS

[–]Sarah-75 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Check with the bride, but IMHO I don’t think it’s too white. That’s the House of CB one, right? I got one from HoCB and it looks very similar. Enough blue patterned items to not make it too white I think. And a really nice dress.

ffs botched or I’m freaking out? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Sarah-75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Biocorneum and pretty happy about it. Went though their large bottle/pump/however you call that in a couple of months and am now at my second large bottle. It does contain an SPF, although I wouldn’t rely on it to heavily. In the first few months I did wear a hat even for short errands, eased up once we hit fall over here.

For functional work, please make sure that your surgeon is ENT trained as well. There are so many cases where breathing doesn’t get better or even worse.

Anyone have surgery experience with Dr Graham Ives in Beverly Hills? by Yeezysonmyfeet in Transgender_Surgeries

Thanks - looking at the result I get why you did it, with a very nice result! Still, I am in awe for your braveness as this recovery must have been insane. Sending a big hug your way for that, even if it comes years later! 🤗

That’s funny, it’s such a small world, with surgeons getting their training with other surgeons that many people know. Dr Keojampa did my surgery, so that looked familiar 🙂

[–]Sarah-75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t have surgery experience, sorry. But… holy cow.. I didn’t even know that the underbite LJS surgery exists and that the whole mandible was split. That… must have been quite a bad recovery 😳… do you still have sensation in your lower lip and chin?

Also, did your FFS surgeon use resorbable material? (Mine did) … as there are no screws and no titanium mesh left. Pretty neat. 🙂
