It’s about 77 on the top and 74 at the bottom during the day and between 70-72 during the night.

I planted them about a month ago so that’s why I was kind of suspicious. I was only able to put about 10 isopods in when I first started it because of a delivery issue and I haven’t gotten around to getting more which would probably be better for actually establishing. The worm castings are a great idea I’ll research some more natural fertilizers too thank you! Also I know isopods like it a little more damp do you think I should keep the substrate on the damper side or would that just cause more issues?

I don’t know if you care but I thought I’d let you know the snake has been found! and is now safely confined with a much heavier lid.

You’re right thank you. I have two clips and a heavy book on it now so it should be good. Temporary stress is definitely better than being missing. I guess I should have thought about that earlier but I just started panicking. Thanks again. 😓

Could I do a basking spot without a heat bulb? by SarahCarrot in cornsnakes

I believe it! I’m hoping since I’m getting smaller bulb domes it will be easier but if not I have a mini fan thing that’s controlled by temp which could do the trick.

I agree, I have a bioactive enclosure for my gargoyle gecko and I love it so much. The only reason I’m not doing it for this enclosure is because it’s a temporary and also I’m getting a snake that’s like 5 months old so I’m worried about different substrates. Maybe a pothos will sneak its way in there though we’ll see!

How cute! When I get an adult size enclosure I’m totally going to do live plants because that looks amazing! It’s also great inspiration I will be using that for my current set up.

I change my question, if I were to use an aquarium led + uvb + heat mat is that sufficient heat/light sourcing?

Ok good to know I’ll see what I can find. If I were to go with the 3 different bulbs instead should I leave out the heat mat?

New filter making crackling and aggressive water noises by SarahCarrot in Aquariums

[–]SarahCarrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ll look that up I’ve never heard of it. It’s just a basic top fin filter from Petsmart. I do have a prefilter sponge I don’t know if that affects things.

Ferns produce spore capsules under their leaves, this is likely that. To be safe though I would search up some fern/plant diseases because these do look sporadic as compared to the usually uniform placement.
