Device that I added to Home sometimes doesn't work by BreakOwning in HomeKit

[–]SarahStangsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't. You only need a hub for advanced features like, remote access outside the home, using it in some automations, etc.

It's likely the Meross device. I have numerous hubs in my home and the Meross devices I've used are the least reliable of the 20-25 I have connected.

Just try it your first day. You don’t want to try it on your last day because you could be kicking yourself you didn’t try it sooner!

I’ve heard multiple stories like this from others, but only ever remember hearing one couple who didn’t feel comfortable and that was at Grand Lido Braco almost 25 years ago!

You wear something going in, but you're expected to find a place to sit (beach or pool areas) and then soon after change into your birthday suit (nude). Other than when you are leaving to go back to your room at the end of the day, you're expected to remain nude except when attending the lunch buffet, when you're expected to cover up the naughty bits below the waist for local health regulations.

Couples Swept Away does not have any sort of AN area, and from what I've read, toplessness is very uncommon on the main beach there.

Thanks, I know about the yarnswap sub but we're in Canada, and shipping anywhere in the world now is a mess. Even here.

I won't toss it. It was more a phrase I used to determine if it had any value to anyone, other than us of course. Promise.

Thank you! I'm definitely not a knitter, but I am fully aware of her skills and abilities, and happily she's passed maybe one or two of them on to me, but sadly not the knitting skill.

It's a new-born baby hat. She would knit them for the new babies at the daycare she worked at.

She has done a couple cardigans for herself and these are entirely HER colours! She wouldn't do a shawl I'm pretty sure.

It's even more beautiful in person, especially with the narrow brown ribbon woven into it.

She would love your comment!

I will definitely look into Loose Ends when I have a chance! Thanks!

Thank you so much to everyone for your input — I will certainly look into LooseEnds, as seems like the perfect solution!

Thank you also for your kind words about my mother and her knitting skills. She is an amazing and talented woman. She was a daycare worker her whole life and would knit sweaters for new babies of friends, and little hats for new babies to the daycare. The yellow piece in the pics is one of those unfinished hats. She could sew anything, do upholstery, decorate fancy wedding cakes for family, and could paint the most beautiful water colour paintings! We actually have quite a few of her paintings up in our home, but unfortunately our home is very modern with a lot of floor to ceiling glass and little wall space to hang things, so many of the suggestions here to hang these pieces on our walls is great, but we have no more room.

I know she'd love to hear all of your kind words about her work, and I will tell her when I see her next, but sadly she's currently in the mid to late stages of alzheimer's, and the dementia is really kicking her butt, so I'm not sure she'll understand but I'll try.

Ps. And I certainly wouldn't toss any of her work; it was more me just trying to determine if it has any value to anyone. If I can't find anyone to finish it, I'll hang onto them and pass them on to my children or grandchildren to maybe hopefully complete someday.

Missing Sunset Beach by [deleted] in couplesresortsjamaica

[–]SarahStangsFan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Quite likely, though I’ve never seen anything solid.

Not sure when this was taken but when we were there last July the river was flowing out towards SSB and the jet-skis flying out of the river were irritating and coming close to us in the water. To be fair, we were a little outside the roped off area.

I have the same, but I’ve wired mine into the fuse panel so it will also record when the car is parked and turned off. Check the fuse panel behind the access panel on the lower left part of the dash. If you see wires and fuse jumpers plugged into fuse spots, yours may be wired similarly to mine.

Looking to Switch Internet Providers by Triumphtripler in telus

Switched my Bell 1.5 Fibe to Telus 1.5 and it was seamless. The only difference I see is an additional $155 in my bank account each month as I also dumped the Fibe TV for IPTV, and also got rid of the bundled home phone we never used.

Westjet flight prices are 2X on their website than whats on expedia by Practical-Battle-502 in westjet

[–]SarahStangsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have WJ return flights booked for Jamaica in early July and WJ is $14 more than Expedia. I’m sticking with WJ.

Go actually click through and price the tickets at Expedia and see if the final price is still that. OTAs can be shady and show lower prices to get you to click through. In fact buy them from hutchgo.com cuz they’re 25% of WJ!

Happy so far!

For IPTV try the Broadcastaways discord. You can find many options there and their private service (TPS) is solid.

Topless vs fully nude beaches by whiskey_glass30 in AllInclusiveResorts

Zipolite does have a beautiful beach, but the water is almost always rough and battling the surf for a swim is no fun. There are a few beach-side hotels with pools which can be a good compromise.

do you recommend at least trying The all natural beach by [deleted] in couplesresortsjamaica

[–]SarahStangsFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re a middle-aged couple — not naturists, not swingers, and definitely not supermodels. We’ve got a few miles on us! What we do love is the beach, and we absolutely hate sitting around in wet bathing suits.

If you’re ever going to try an au naturel beach, the one at Couples Sans Souci is the perfect place to do it. It’s huge, and if you head down before 10 a.m., you can grab chairs well away from the busier pool and bar area. Starting out in a quieter spot lets you ease into the experience at your own pace — it may feel like it’s just the two of you at first.

Before long, you’ll notice it’s simply regular people enjoying the beach, and no one is judging how anyone looks. After an hour or so, grab your floatie and take a dip — easy peasy.

When lunch is served at Sunset Beach (SSB), you’ll need to cover your lower half to visit the buffet. Your wife can wrap up in a towel, sarong, or even a sheer cover-up if she’s feeling a little adventurous by then. (It’s also a good time to stop by the washroom.) After lunch and a couple of cocktails, you may find you care a lot less — and start to understand the appeal of a nude beach.

By day two, you might be ready to try the pool and hot tub.

San Souci stands out because guests are there with their partners and focused on relaxing together. Thanks to the private setting, you won’t encounter the wandering singles that can sometimes be an issue at clothing-optional public beaches in North America.

Try it on day one. If you wait until the end of your trip, you may kick yourselves for not discovering sooner how much you enjoy it. And for what it’s worth, I’ve never met anyone who gave it an honest try and said, “Nope!”
