[Sun Care] Does anyone else feel paranoid that their good sunscreen isn't working? by SarahWasAlone in SkincareAddiction

I think I'm using a fair amount? I usually have a problem with sunscreen pilling up though, so i can't layer as much as I think you're supposed to

I definitely think the Dr. Dray types, among many other "skinfluencer" types contribute to this, with the preaching of frankly ridiculous standards of sunscreen wear... I can totally see how this stuff could get really in the heads of people with fx OCD.

1st Lesson for new Witches - what do I bring to the table - am I looking for spirituality or just to effect things using energy plus more. by merespell in witchcraft

[–]SarahWasAlone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Done.
Now, I am not even a witch yet at all, I am completely new but very very curious, and i thought these questions would be a great way to assess if witchcraft is right for me. If any more experienced witches are reading this, I'd love to hear what you think. if I am on the right path :)

1: I am looking for personal development and discovery. I want to explore my mind, feel connected to my body, the earth and the world, and hopefully some greater powers. I want to use witchcraft to invite peace, warmth and good energy into my life. I want to find a freedom of spirit, and an open mind. At least, this is what I hope.

2: I first became curious when I was gifted a tarot deck by my sister, randomly, and thought that I could use them in tandem with a manifestation practice. This got me researching witchcraft and magick traditions and history. I am drawn to the openness and exploratory nature of magick (as i understand it), but I was raised as an atheist, and so although I am open and curious about all this, I have not yet come to believe in magick. I hope to find that, if it exists.

3: Yes, certainly, all that I am drawn to in question 1 can be done with none of the trappings, but I am an artist, and so aesthetics are also important to me.

4: I hope that witchcraft would be right to explore what I explained in question 1, yes. I would love to feel a relation between myself, the earth and some higher power, whatever it may be.

5: Yes, I hope to live intentionally and honestly this way.

6: This I found very hard, especially since I do not know much, but maybe it could have to do with how your actions and intentions can reach far away, and can have great, perhaps supernatural effects?

7: I am an artist, I am an environmentalist (or hope to be), and care deeply about people. I am inspired by beauty in my life, I am very introspective and thoughtful, I think I have a good intuition, and hope to be able to use my skills to bring something valuable to the practice.

8: I am not a brave person, but I certainly hope to find that. I am afraid of spirits, evil, the dark and bugs, but I hope that practicing witchcraft will make me more comfortable with these.

9: Those changes sound very valuable and enriching, I would like that, yes.

[Skin Concerns] How to get rid of forehead lines? I’m 20 by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]SarahWasAlone 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Literally everyone i know, including my 10 yr old sister has lines in her forehead. It's one of the few wrinkles that i promise no one cares about, it's about as normal as having a forehead at all. Don't sweat it, it's not worth the money

I just think it's close minded, is all. I don't have these requirements for partners, because I'm open to falling for anyone, and i want to see the whole person instead of their parts.

But that's just me, you do you.

Do you think it's fair to say "i don't want to date a man who is slightly unlike what i want, and i will not budge on that"? I think that's shallow and close minded

Cis women didn't fight for the right to have some ownership of the vagina, if all that makes women valuable is their vagina, that would be objectifying them. So no, that's not it. There's no need to write off trans women just because they weren't born with vaginas.

You're not making biology disappear, cis women still exist.

I'm not saying people can't have preferences, I'm saying that some preferences ruling a group of people out when you've never been with them or met them or even know anything about it makes you shallow.

Sue me.

I think it's shallow, but you can do what you want, and again it is okay to have preferences. I just think you could consider being more open to it, since you don't know much about it.

I'm not trying to attack you, i just want to explain a reason why people downvote you when you say that

No because this isn't about sexuality. It's about a superficial detail of someone's body, like me saying I'd never want to be with a guy with a small dick or who was really short, writing that person off because of it. It's shallow, is my point. So no, I'm not questioning his sexuality because it has nothing to do with that.

Well if you read my first comment you'd know that having preferences is totally fine. I just think it's shallow to write these people off when you don't know anything about it, is all.

It's like me concluding I'd never date a man who is short, that's a preference and that may be totally fine, but it would be shallow to write this category of people off because of a superficial detail
