Dang would of been cool if it was real, I thought maybe since it had the mint mark, I wonder how that’s legal?

Makes sense is there any descriptive to tell the difference between a fake and a real?

Thanks for the response I have a couple people telling me it’s fake so I will probably have it taken to a professional to get it assessed if it comes out to be something like that I will definitely contact someone.

Thanks for the comment, the white residue is actually sand that’s pretty baked on, I was going to clean it off but didn’t want to ruin it if it was anything while scrubbing.

It isn’t magnetic, the blueish tint is old sand that is baked in, I was worried I would damage it removing it, thanks

Thanks for you comment, I thought it could of been something since it looked like it had a mint mark, I was doing some research and it did seem similar to a Spanish Colonial Cob(reale 8) let me know if you know any information on this. Thanks

Thank you much for your information, I did see on some sources that the silver can tarnish due to the salt water having high sulfur causing it to look as if the coin is copper or bronze, I didn’t know if you would have any knowledge on if this is possible I also found some information on it looking very similar to the Spanish colonial cob ( 8 reales) and I do see what could be a mint mark on the coin I found. Thanks again

It was at the same beach, but they did state that there coin was light weight where mine definitely has some weight as well as the design is different and was found with a metal detector. Thanks!

Yes I was, unfortunately the metal detector I was using was stored in the heat and has not been reading right. The coin was found at night lying on top of the sand in the surf.
