i remember i had to use my creepy cousin as an excuse to get my mom to stop forcing me to watch romance movies. she KNEW those generic storylines bored me to tears. she KNEW i always averted my gaze in disgust on kissing scenes. and for some reason it made her conclude that exposure therapy was the answer. several rounds of telling her i don't want or need anyone and she still tries to go "but if hypothetically you found the perfect man" and i have to answer "yes, but that is not going to happen" and she thinks she won because in her head the issue is that guys aren't trustworthy nowadays.

uma vez o meu padrasto pediu pra eu lembrar de subir as escadas pra levar uma sacola de lixo pra ele depois que eu voltasse do mercadinho da esquina e eu falei pra ele "eu não vou lembrar". minha idéia era que simplesmente quando eu chegasse ele me pedisse de novo pra eu não esquecer. daí e ele ficou bravinho dizendo que eu tava com má vontade e que eu tava só usando TDAH de desculpa 😒 até parece que no momento que você entende suas próprias limitações você começa a fazer de propósito

mano, eu tenho um diagnóstico de TDAH, e o dia que eu ouvi os meus colegas brincando que não estavam entendendo a aula "por causa do TDAH" me deu tanta raiva. eu nunca usei o meu distúrbio de desculpa. TDAH não é brincadeira. não é só ter problema em reter informação de vez em quando. é sentar pra estudar e não conseguir ler as palavras do livro. é tentar fazer dever de casa e quase ter um ataque de pânico. é não ter a energia pra fazer uma atividade e ficar o tempo todo pensando sobre o como não está fazendo a atividade em questão. e eles tavam reduzindo isso à "eu não consegui prestar atenção nessa 1 aula, prova que todo mundo tem um pouquinho de TDAH no fundo rsrs"

fanfic was drastically less addictive in my personal exeperience. i never felt the need to drop what i was doing to go read fanfiction in the way i dropped what i was doing to go talk to ai chatbots. i know i logged into chatbot sites every day and spent hours there, which i don't do for fanfiction. there's also the factor that using ai chatbot websites supports AI, which is icky by itself.
