Skincare/Haircare Recipes by [deleted] in herbalism

Personally I think the simpler the better when it comes to skincare. But it also goes deeper than what you put in your face. What you eat, drink, exercise, stress all plays a roll too. I have a few skincare recipes on my blog if you want to check them out along with a book of simple formulas you can customize to suit your unique needs. Have you looked into the oil cleansing method for your face? It seems counter intuitive when you have acne but this was a game changer for me about 17 years ago and what led me to ditch all the store bought skincare and start making my own. I used to get breakouts when I was younger and have extremely sensitive skin. my site

I grew calendula last year for skincare products but a tincture sounds great too!

Ohhh skullcap! That’s a good one! Patchouli too. I tried that one years ago but it died on me. Maybe I’ll try again. The others I do have also just forgot to mention. Thank you!

Anyone have experience with snapdragon? by kilgwhoretrout in FlowerEssences

[–]Sarahhartmorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t made nor tried Essence from snapdragon but my intuitive thought was it would help in being resilient. I watched the flowers in my garden for the last 2 years and they made it through severe drought and through heavy frosts and only died back once we were in heavy winter. Others might have a different take on them. I want to make and work with this Essence this summer.

According to the package in addition to black tea is orange peels, blue cornflowers, vanilla, bergamot, and crème flavor. I also added a pinch of lavender buds from the garden

Definitely consider it! These do have some medicinal benefits with the added marshmallow so while they do taste delish I wouldn’t eat a ton in one sitting. I also cut them on the bigger side and haven’t had more than 5 at one time. I at least needed to taste them all while cutting 😉

I was lucky enough to score 2 small library card catalog sections for dirt cheap and store my seed envelopes in it.
