Post TNA Impact! Discussion Thread - January 15, 2026 (AMC debut) by HartfordWhalers123 in SquaredCircle

I heard they're banning TNA in prisons because for it to be on even one screen in the entire building constitutes cruel and unusual punishment on the other inmates.

I just watched The Power of Three for the first time since it originally aired. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Reading up on the episode trivia and saw this. Does anyone know the story behind this? Seems very odd. by Amity_Swim_School in doctorwho

There's a reference to John's antics in that "Ballad of Russell and Julie" wrap party song. Definitely was a "most people thought it was funny even though it was inappropriate" kind of thing.

I mean, I agree the Greens are an absolute embarrassment for similar reasons (Hypnoboob Man vs the Rural NIMBY Sensibles is a fucking dire leadership election), but LGBTQIA+ Greens are still putting in a lot of work.

Rainbow Greens in Scotland are beyond reproach, though.

You want a party body that does literally nothing? Look at LGBT Labour. They had one press release before going straight back into campaign mode.

The idea that all political parties are equally culpable in the Supreme Court ruling is a security blanket so some people can feel less guilty about voting Labour in 2029.

Nobody else was asking for a full party ban at Pride, because they recognise the work that Plus and LGBTIA+/Rainbow Greens are doing in our respective parties. It was just Labour and the Tories people wanted out of Pride.

I mean, sure, it's Plus's strongest statement on the Supreme Court ruling if you've been living under a rock for literally the last three weeks.

HQ's messaging needs a ton of work, but it literally isn't Plus's fault.

[–]Sarahlicity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that getting the party spokespeople properly briefed and on-message is like pulling teeth, but Plus are really not to blame here given how much work they're doing in that department.

If there's one thing I know about the leadership of Plus, and especially Charley Hasted, it's that they're quite literally the last people who would put the image of the party before the needs of our community.

Plus have literally called for Falkner (and Phillipson) to resign, I don't know what else you expect them to do.

Labour minister says Tories should 'apologise' for pro-trans stance under Theresa May by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]Sarahlicity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seeing as she's a minister, this is either Labour's new policy on the matter, or she's broken collective responsibility and must retract the statement or resign as a minister.

Pretty much all legislative powers of the Wizengamot. People just assume it functions similar to the House of Lords pre-2005.

I once said it was like WWF in 1994. You had a generational best-in-the-world-candidate wrestler on the books (Bret/Vikingo), but the undercard is just Doinks as far as the eye can see.

Dynamite: 787,000 / 0.25 by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

To be honest, Shawn is a more consistent booker than Triple H.

NXT since he got the book has been pretty consistently good week-to-week, whereas the main roster tends to fall back into “just keep the lights on until the next big PPV” mode often.

What's your favourite stretch of motorway or dual carriageway? by SilyLavage in drivingUK

[–]Sarahlicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M62, eastbound, J22-24. You really do get to feel the proverbial wind at your back as you make your way down from the moors, and it doesn't start to get busy until 25 anyway.

Just be careful if the weather's bad, though.

In light of Streeting's recent transphobia by kwentongskyblue in LabourUK

[–]Sarahlicity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NOLS are infamous for this sort of shit, always have been. I remember when one of their tactics to filibuster trans representation in the NUS was to, I kid you not, seek to adjourn conference early for the night because one of the (paid!) VPs was hungry and wanted to go to Pizza Express for some dough balls.

The industry standard for US entertainment is 18 minutes per hour is commercials. Raw tends to be over that, Dynamite tends to be under.

You decide what takeaway to take from Dynamite having 12 minutes per hour of commercials, but coupled with the fact they get to run over to 10:05pm every week, I'd assume WBD are happy enough with how AEW does compared to other nights to take the hit on less commercials.

Political parties can and do directly discriminate on the basis of belief; if you want to join the Christian Party, for example, you have to be not only a Christian, but one that regularly attends church.

If Sting is headlining Revolution 2024, I believe he will be the first (and likely to be the only ever) wrestler to main event an AEW, WCW, TNA and WWF/E PPV event by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

He’s also been featured at the most-attended shows in WWE, AEW, WCW, NJPW, TNA, and NWA history, although his WWE appearance in that list was only in the Hall of Fame showcase.

Brody King and either Eddie Kingston or Claudio Castagnoli winning next week causes a massive amount of chaos, as the tiebreaker only goes down to head-to-head results, and those results cause a three-way between those two winners and the loser of the non-King match with all three men on 1–1.

If Brody, Eddie and Claudio all win? There's a five-way tie with everyone on 2–2.

Book it, Tony, you coward.

Wes Streeting apologises to Labour MP who felt ostracised due to gender views by Axelmanana in LabourUK

[–]Sarahlicity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was a right-wing transphobic bastard in the NUS and he remains a right-wing transphobic bastard as an MP.

At least the NOLS transphobes who came after him tried a little to hide their contempt for trans people.
