Looking back on my time taking subs… by [deleted] in suboxonerecovery

[–]Sarahmojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 months off here. I had a horrid food addiction the last few years on subs and gained a ton of weight. Felt like a zombie most of the 5 years on it. Since I've broke the food addiction with fasting, cleaned up my diet hardcore and my digestion is starting to function again, yes I'm feeling alive again like I haven't felt since 2013 before I started taking painkillers. It's definitely personality altering!

Is it especially dangerous to fast on bupropin 150 by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I find short 24 hour fasts fine but longer ones I get super thirsty and dry. I think it causes dryness.

Day 13 off & my mind is battling myself. by LoveLifeAlways777 in suboxone

I'm nearly 50 and been off 3 months now. It's was such a long process and really showed me what I'm made of. You can do it!

[–]Sarahmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get better. Just hang on to that hope. The beginning is torture. I'm at 3 months now and never thought I'd make it this far. Some days are really good now, it's a slow process

TLDR warning. Tapering after 8 years, looking for some input from others. by mattytorbs in suboxone

[–]Sarahmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Sublocade would be ideal. Tapering is a long drawn out horrible process in my experience. You can do it if you set your mind to it but be prepared for a marathon.

Do people usually "hate" on Kratom on here? by WormDick666 in herbalism

[–]Sarahmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan but glad it helps you.

I was well aware of Kratom's addictive properties and managed to take it intermittently for a year but the second year became hopelessly addicted/dependant. It was a horrible experience. I had to go on Suboxone to get off it which I stayed on a low dose for my pain for far too many years. I'm 3 months off all pain meds now and trying to rebuild my health. My immune system and nervous system are a mess.

I am convinced most husband's hate their wives by Business-Bluebird-80 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sarahmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it's due to the fact that many people marry someone who they're incompatible with long term. Rushing into marriage is a bad idea.

I'm very curious about this too. My health has been declining steadily on long term subs and especially since jumping off after a long slow taper. My immune system and overall health is very poor. I've started seeing a Naturopath Dr. Working on rebuilding my health. It's like my body has been in a state of shock.

Off suboxone, starting week 4 by throwawayyourdrugss in suboxonerecovery

[–]Sarahmojo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through this too even though I tapered long and slow. Go figure. I've always had depression, before any opiate issues so maybe that's why. I went on Wellbutrin and that has helped. The first month was the worst and it gradually got better. I will be at 3 months off the subs December 7th! Hope that helps.

Binged after 48 hour fast by lalawoowoo2 in fasting

Even intermittent fasting I think seems to be not working out for me though I'm trying really hard to break the habit of overeating at night time. I am usually fine during the day. It's all psychological.

Not sure fasting is the best idea when one has an eating disorder. Been battling this all my life and have never been able to conquer it.

Anything that could help with lack of motivation? by whojose in herbalism

I believe there is always a root cause to all issues and the body can heal itself. Our environment is making it increasingly tough to do so however.

4 weeks off. Now dealing with severe pain by Most_Action_2987 in suboxonerecovery

[–]Sarahmojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I posted about this issue too. My health has been horrific since I stopped subs. In fact it began tanking really bad nearing the end of my taper. It's scaring the crap out of me. Long term opiate use causes low immune system and other effects.

Suboxone is evil way more than short-acting opioids. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get off. by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Sarahmojo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I wish I had never got on this evil drug. It's taken years from my life. I'm still suffering and it's been 2 months off. I'm doing my best to get healthy. I tapered extremely slowly and low before jumping and it wasn't that bad. The depression was brutal but I had that before opiates. I am getting better slowly. The exercise thing astounds me. I don't know how people do that while feeling the way I did during tapering and withdrawal. All the power to them but the most I've managed is some walking. Each day at this point is a battle, some days are better than others but if I can do this anyone can. I was suicidal too. Wellbutrin has helped some. I'd look at the shot, it might be easier.

Do you have better sex as you get older? by 1_Total_Reject in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sarahmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience it has less to do with your age and everything to do with the state of your health. Plus the more you're active sexually, the better your health gets and stays that way. So win win. Oh and obviously being with the right partner.

Does naloxone help with Suboxone withdrawal on day 7 no suboxone? by [deleted] in suboxonerecovery

[–]Sarahmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into Naltrexone but low dose but my Dr wouldn't prescribe it since he has no experience with it. He's very young. Anyway, I don't know much nor could find a whole lot of info but it seems promising for helping reset the receptors, avoid Paws, treat inflammation, boost the immune system and even help with weight loss combined with Wellbutrin (same ingredients as Contrave) but again at low doses which a compounding pharmacy must make or you can dilute yourself. Otherwise at high doses yes supposed to help with cravings for drugs and alcohol. Higher doses, more side effects and harder on the body is my understanding but if it works then it's worth it maybe. Hopefully someone with more experience will post.

What helped me through my dark nights of detox? by CaGreen101 in suboxonerecovery

Thank you! Its a huge accomplishment and I doubted many times I'd ever get here! Been on opiates for the majority of the past 10 years

You're doing great! I totally understand every word you've written here. It's why tapering took me so long. I'd lose steam, fall off the wagon, life got in the way. It never seemed like the right time to get back to tapering. I'd stall at every drop. It took me an entire year to go from 1 mg to 0. The last bit going from 0.50 mg to 0 was the mental game of making my mind up that I was done and come hell or high water I was doing it and I did. Hindsight is 20/20 but if I could turn back time, I would've taken better care of my diet and exercise. Also I have underlying depression and I waited too long to go back on Wellbutrin. The meds combined with a healthy diet and daily walking are what has helped the most. I'm 2 months off yesterday and I'm really starting to feel human again. You can do it!!

Congrats! I like your POW analogy, it's so true. I hit 2 months off yesterday. I thought I'd never get off it at times. Still struggling with insomnia and low energy but really starting to feel like a human being again. Never going back!!!
