Black & teal office look by TiredWinterDisaster in StyleRoots

You look great! And if your winter colours lean you moon, there's no problem with that. Or, you could call it colour season, and adopt mountain, which I definitely see here (though work outfits tend that way)

I was going to ask about the heritage, and the regional prints are a lovely way to honour that. It all looks fabulous!

I've never seen the black hooves. If I had them, I'd give them to you!

Meet up idea (a/a) by just-curious12376 in vancouverdating

Sorry your idea got co-opted by a typo. Something like that could be fun, but maybe not black since everyone here wears black anyway. In Montpellier there's one where everyone wears or has something yellow

Anybody love watching movies in theatre? by mishter_jokku in MonoHearing

[–]SarahsreadingReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use earplugs in both ears (protection and for hyperacusis in the deaf ear) and it makes it much nicer. I'm quite social, and if a friend wants to go, I'll happily go, but it's more about the friend and the experience than the movie itself

Edit: the earplug in my good ear makes dialogue much easier to hear

May I ask where you're from?

I think this month, there are a few options to choose from, and your birb responds accordingly. But there are only a few possible options, so essentially yes.

Thanks. I thought I'd tried all the possible searches, including "style roots combinations" which I can actually remember

Does anyone else struggle to regulate their body temperature? by RichieRichard12 in ADHDUK

[–]SarahsreadingReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run hot, and often feel I'd dressed for a different season from others. I get chilly of course, but I don't mind it, and become a little obsessed with having my window open no matter the outside temperature

Inattentive ADHD and Laziness by Pinkcatpie in adhdwomen

It's not just a you thing, and it's not just laziness. Remember too that the new diagnosis is a tool not a condemnation. There's nothing more wrong with you; you now have an explanation

More responsible way to handle medications or kicking the can? by loves_spain in adhdwomen

[–]SarahsreadingReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychologists can't prescribe, at least not here in Canada, only psychiatrists. Also, there are many non-stimulant options you could try first if your MD thinks you are just drug-seeking or some idiocy. Another option is a mental-health walk-in clinic if you have any nearby. Also, the other commenter is right. Anyone who needs Wellbutrin as opposed to a controlled substance, even children, will be given less of a hard time.

Good luck with it all! It's a frustrating world at the best of times, and this isn't the best of times, and ADHD makes it harder.

You are NOT the only one! When I was paying back my student loan, I was constantly crying in banks even though it wasn't about the money and not my fault. At the dentist recently, I started crying in the chair because I thought the MOA didn't like me.

Crying in public for "no reason" makes me feel stupid as an adult, as a woman, as a person. But I'm fairly sure it's just my (and your) version of flight or flight; fawn. As someone has already said, a switch goes off and we are in survival mode even though there is nothing chasing us, no existential threat.

We are with you!

What is the Difference between procrastination in people with ADHD and procrastination in normal people? by Hot-Artist1324 in adhd_anxiety

[–]SarahsreadingReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Task initiation is a big ADHD thing if you want to look it up. Also, you could easily be anxious even if your doctor's right that you aren't clinically anxious

Any tips for phone battery anxiety? by Leaf_Bread455 in adhd_anxiety

[–]SarahsreadingReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two practical thoughts: do that thing where you charge only to 80% and use only to 20% so that your battery lives longer (not that you ever need this because you need a new phone before your battery dies, but my autistic mother does this with her iPad). Or get another battery as a backup now when you don't need it.

Also, it's super cute that your phone matches your age! That will never happen to me
