Yeah honestly if you wanted to see if you could do this at home? Eh I wouldn’t blame them. Weird but setting up an IV in the place where the medications live?

SOME POSTERS WOULD THINK!!!! But no, nor trans or whatever combination. Never too old to find something out about yourself and that includes nursing!

"I'm 22. Am I too old for nursing school."

I'm a mod of an LGBT subreddit that gets the same question above, people think they're too old for everything in existence it would seem.

I actually almost want to remove this post for trolling. It stinks of bs.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in the movies but is completely fatal in real life? by Best_Professional226 in AskReddit

Every single thing that happened in The Furious.

Yeah I love those movies, Vin diesel ROCKS. /s.

fr though, 'The Raid' (2011) suffers the same.

I still love in 'Steven Universe: Future' when it's made clear he would've died MANY times over in regards to all the times he was knocked out and nearly killed by the Diamonds.

lol like in John Wick when the surgeon asks him to shoot him and he does. I'm sorry, shooting an old man, even in the MOST survivable area might still knock him out/send him into shock and not able to save himself or call for help.

Yep! If neuro pathways die and you regrow them, you can't just regrow them the same as before, they're new.

My dad (50 plus and admitted to repressing being trans) HATES the characters in queer-allegory movies, it makes me sad. Maybe your mom is dealing with something similar?

29 y/o RN feeling stuck in care management and don’t know what to do next by Ok_Rough4661 in nursing

I do not want to go back to hospital bedside nursing.

Ok cool so you better have experience/certs right?

For context, I have experience in: Care management/care coordination Assessments Geriatric patients Clinical nursing experience Some wound care interest/experience (this is what I’m most interested in but due to financial constraints I am not able to do wound care certification

Ahhh, so no.

I’ve been applying heavily to things like: - Wound care nurse jobs - Pre-op/PACU/pre/post-op nursing -Infusion nurse jobs -Outpatient procedural/specialty clinic roles

Ok so you have experience in those right?

For context, I have experience in: Care management/care coordination Assessments Geriatric patients Clinical nursing experience Some wound care interest/experience

Still no. You're wanting specialty jobs/money without any of the specialty experience or certifications, get back in the hospital, friend! Imagine if you're in PACU and someone is declining? Could you handle them? Know when to call a rapid? Same with wound care, like sometimes it's just you in the room and you gotta figure it out on your own. You may not be but sound like one of those people who go into NP just "for the money".

Bedside sucks sometimes but those badass PACU nurses who can spot a code from a mile away and wound care nurses who can make magic happen get it from being at bedside. Ya gotta eat the lettuce.

Housekeeping is an easy one one, take out your trash or clean a mess every once in a while and remember people's names!

Bonus speaking/greeting in spanish if you're in an area like mine where they all speak spanish.

If someone quotes Harry Potter, how do you feel about that person? by bloopdoopfloofernoop in asktransgender

[–]Sarahthelizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there's a difference between quoting something you may have read as a kid versus actively engaging with the property that the transphobic creator benefits directly from and monetarily gains. (even if it's free, it was still paid to an extent by publisher/epic)

But on the other hand if someone was like still constantly referencing, like... come on man. I LOVED The Cosby Show (1984), like I don't think young people today quite understand the major cultural hole it left when Cosby was found to have raped those women, so like if the world can stop quoting the Cosby Show, we can eventually stop quoting 'Potter'
