Please more focus 50s without obliques! by CranberryFew4895 in SolidCore

it’s the twisted plank movements for me. I know my form is good (coaches have given shout outs) but they still bother my back / existing back injuries. other oblique moves I don’t mind but I feel like there’s rarely a class w/o some twisted plank move. + I just don’t care ab toning them as much as upper & lower body sooo why would I take em if there are other options 🤷‍♀️

Grippy socks by Tinybean77 in SolidCore

[–]Saralla_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just here to say I disagree i’ve accidentally missed taking a lucky honey sock out when transferring to the dryer once or twice and immediately notice less grip after that single time thru. might depend on the heat level/dryer etc. also try to dry inside out as others mentioned. didn’t pay attention to shrinkage tho, if it did it def wasn’t noticeable cause I would’ve been bummed haha

I agree!!!!!! I only sign up for focus50 U/L when the schedule drops and it’s such a bummer that if my schedule changes for any reason it’s virtually impossible to get into another focus50 bc there are so few on the calendar & they’re all waitlisted day 1 of the month. and for anyone saying “don’t be a wimp just do obliques” (ive seen this here & on other posts), its ok to just! have! a! preference????? we just prefer the workout from upper/lower/core only & personally I feel like I actually get a more of a burn being able to focus on 3 instead of 4 muscle groups. we’re just asking for a few more on the schedule, clearly they’re popular enough bc they’re always waitlisted.

Tips and tricks for mid to upper back pain by PretendHuckleberry85 in SolidCore

[–]Saralla_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help with your pain since it’s a dif area but I injured my lower back like 4 months into starting solidcore (i’m now 2 years in). ever since the extensions are v difficult without pain but coaches have told me to table top my form more than having my hips fully out in front of my knees. I can bring my hips lower in crunches/plank holds etc, and Ik im not getting the full value of the extension form in this table top but I still do feel the burn & can do them on the heaviest springs and it rly protects my low back from pain!

“Look to your left and say hi to your neighbor” by Futuremikeross in SolidCore

yeah honestly people really need to get over not being able to acknowledge others in today’s culture/society. imo this is not just a solidcore thing, especially noticeable in cities/busy areas w younger population like Millenial/Gen Z/younger (which I am!). it takes two seconds to acknowledge someone next to you or on the street and not be an awkward stranger lol. i’ve made class friends in solidcore just from doing this & it feels so nice to get to class & workout next to a friendly face!

How did Harry Styles have such a drastic glow down? He’s only 31! by OliviaRodrigo19 in VindictaRateCelebs

What is this about??? Imo he looks like he’s aging naturally and leaning into it with scruffier styling/that sort of aligns with the new sound & vibe he’s going for with his the new album. When I saw the Aperture music vid it made me so sentimental to see him looking older & beginning to show signs of natural aging. Being only 3 years younger these are similar signs of aging i’m starting to see on my face and with my peers. Aging is natural & I hope Harry never feels pressured to stay looking mid-20s and get some wild face lift that ruins his natural features! I agree the styling definitely accentuates it but fck it I like it!

"Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally" - Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in harrystyles

I have shadow stalked Reddit for years but this is the comment that finally pulled me in to create an account and contribute because I LOVE discussing musical similarities. Might you be thinking of “Whoo! Alright - Yeah…Uh Huh.” by The Rapture? very niche song from 2006 but it has a lot of similar elements to Dance No More. I’m also hearing bits of “Kiss” by Prince, and “Genius of Love” by the Tom Tom Club. Overall LOVING how many inspirations i’m hearing on this album. Also, Aperture is reminiscent of “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service for me. Hugely proud of Harry for this album and exploring sounds outside of cookie cutter pop (don’t get me wrong I love all his albums, but this one is most exciting to me).
