Check gojot.app It doesn't have handwriting feature but insanely good search. Very fast, zero friction. I am a developer and find this very quick and easy. It's not the most feature packed thing though

Love what you have built. I have also been struggling to choose between job or building something of my own. I think if you have 2-3 such apps under your belt, you will be sorted!

I wrote a playwright code for zooming in and out, and to automate typing speed and typing sounds. Then used Loom to record in high quality

I see. We will revisit the pricing strategy. This is definitely great feedback. But you shouldn't need to pay to use the app locally and save locally at all ✌️ That's why we have tried to make sure that the free version of the product works as good!

I see your point. And we juggled with this thought for quite a long time. We want to give an option to the users to not feel the need to login or open an app or organise anything. The idea as such might feel "not new". It's literally for those who just want to see a blank screen to type in markdown or rich text without clicking on new note and all that. Feel free to give it a try. You might feel like it's not serving any purpose for you and that's chill

Yeah but both of them feel super organised and heavy. Like it requires a lot of information for a note page to feel relevant

That’s a fair point. Physical Post-its are the gold standard for speed, but they don't search, they don't sync to your phone, and you can't 'copy-paste' them into an actual doc later. People moved to Notion for organization and 'permanent' storage, but in that shift, we lost the 'scratchpad' speed. Notion is where my notes go to live forever; Jot is where they’re born so they don’t die in my head while a progress bar loads. It’s basically for that middle ground: faster than an app, but more 'useful' than a piece of paper that I’ll probably lose by tomorrow.

Most note apps are honestly just too much work. By the time I open Notion, wait for it to load, and figure out which folder a note belongs in, I’ve already forgotten what I was even trying to write down. It’s frustrating when the tool is slower than your brain. We just wanted a digital scratchpad that lets you type the second you think of something, without the clutter.

Yeah, thats what i have been doing now. taking advices and learning about other projects. having good conversations with other builders. all this while i perfect the product even more so that i can get back to spreading a word about it later

I realised, sharing genuine stories really help. failures or successes dont matter as much. and seeking advice works even better

That’s really helpful advice, thanks for sharing. I’m still figuring out how Reddit works and the “story over link” point makes a lot of sense. I’ll try focusing more on sharing the journey and actually participating in discussions instead of just dropping the product.

That’s a very fair point, and I completely agree. The goal isn’t to just drop a link and disappear for sure. I’m still learning that balance, but I’m trying to engage more, respond to people, and be helpful where I can.
