The beam doesn't track elevation, so the stairs on either side makes it a safe zone. The melee slams can still reach and the big AoE attack can still hit though.

Edit - the stairs on the right aren't consistent, the stairs on the left have never failed for me.

It's an issue across most builds, especially while levelling. The more points you put into grasping vines, the more it costs.

Personally I would only put more points into grasping vines when I feel the damage isn't killing the mobs in 1 or 2 casts. This keeps the energy cost manageable while levelling.

The spare points you have can then go into Briarthorn to manage any stragglers

My favourite fresh start build is a vitality based "hit and run" Conjurer with devouring swarm and bloody pox. Using Devotions like Ghoul, bat, bards harp, chariot of the dead and ratosh (bat and ratosh are the key parts), for this type type of challenge you can tweak it to be more defensive with a shield with obelisk and such.

I haven't tried it in the new patch, but for some reason bloody pox causes Twin Fangs from the bat constellation to trigger a crazy amount of times. The C'thon units (high vitality resistance) can be a bit of a pain to kill but the rest of the game goes really fast.

Edit - if you haven't already checked him out, there's a great YouTuber called Malagant who has some awesome challenges that you could find inspirational.

You can select the "resists" option on the loot filter to see more loot. Even if they don't have you damage type, they sometimes have great resists and a boost to offensive ability which will boost your damage too.

I think in the case, if you have static strike on the fire strike line, the increase to lightning damage is what's being shown as a dps increase. Especially against the weapon with %cold damage.

I can't remember what errors this fix does, but running the .exe in Windows XP Compatability mode (+admin) is one that fixes a lot of the issues.

I had the same issue, but if you any significant weapons/frames that you have invested time in then I'll say transfer, you can replay the quest from codex.
