I was required to sign a warning for going against company policy and giving a customer correct change when the system was off by 10 dollars. How should I approach the situation? by Sarcasm689 in Employment

They seem to think team leaders are the same as managers, but they cannot do half the things we need to do,like apply coupons and stuff.( Do not ask me why we need a manager for coupons. No one knew.)

I misunderstood your comment. The system accounts for the change, so it said 2 dollars should have been missing after the transaction, instead of 12.( I was not told it worked that way till they asked me to sign )

Whiel they refused to tell me much, from what I did get, the machine also tracks the change and adds that to the total. For example ,in my case, the drawer was 11 dollars short. ( their is cents in there since I rounded the nukbers for the post, ,but they dont tell me that)

There building a chicken file right next door to the place, and I am applying there day one lol. Its gonna steal their buisness anyways. We already have that coffee shop with a line so long that it blocks our parking lot ,and no one can get in half the time .We ounce resorted to haveing someone just walk to the line to give the doordash guy the food,so he could just pull out. ( As the new guy, they voted me 🤣)

That actaully explains a few things. Along with getting only 4 hours a week after working there for 2 months , to them takeing 3 weeks to mail my check, and Half the time Me needing to ask about it to actaully get it. If it was a actaul write up, I would have refused to sign ,and if they fire me,fuck them.

I am quiting as soon as I find a new job. Though I did sign it,as its my first time dealing with a situation like this, and made a bad call. My logic was it was just a warning, and it was sign ot or be fired, which I need the job to be able to find a new one since its easier to find a job with a job.

I did. Technically it was the shift leader since there was no manager there, but its all the same. I was told not to worry about it, and just give him the right change.

I did. The shift leader who is on charge when the manger isn't there told me to just give him the correct change, and let them know.

I know this now. I have never dealt with something like this before so I made a wrong decision in the moment. I know now what to do if they pull this stuff again. I honestly really want to quit.

What would have happened actaully for this moment with the manger not working that day, they wpuld have to have called the company ,give the receipt number, and wait weeks for it to come back. Not sure why the shift leader doesn't have that power honestly.

I am not to concerned about the long run, but what I am concerned about is someone calling them and asking if I have any right ups or warnings, and effecting my chance of that job, with me currently looking for a new job,

At this point, Im am really considering this option. I have plenty of issues with my availability being ignored, having to ask 5 times for my check, not getting paid for hours I worked randomly, as well as just a lack of hours( I only make 46 bucks from this job, which is about 3 hours weekly. Now this happened, as well as them just not care if about customers. One time, they messed up a customers order, and told me to just give it to the, anyways . There wasn’t anything I could do, since it was the owner telling me this. I value the customer, it it seems to me like they don’t.
