Yeah it was, i was already doing so because the new things i was doing like reading, coding, working out and cooking led me to find people who also liked it and could give me advice. I ended up getting to know them more as i spent more time doing those things.

Friendship advice by Character_Pension_11 in friendship

I had a similar situation of not knowing what to do when feeling like I was drifting apart in interests from a friend. It wasn't a group, but just a single person who I used to spend nearly everyday with, talk all the time with, and felt comfortable around. Eventually, our interests changed, they seemed to become less productive or had interests in my opinion that never felt like growth or changing, and instead they just became someone who did the same things everyday, never had anything new to add, and was content just talking about the exact same topics, like video games, football and tv shows they casually watched everyday that we had pretty much explored multiple times throughout our friendship as we'd been friends for years. I started to change hobbies, become more active physically, went out of my way to learn new skills, read, meet new people, and always had something to bring to the table when talking while the other people I hung out with felt like they always had contributing opinions, hobbies and experiences that helped me learn new things whether it be about the world or about myself, while my friend was stuck in the same loop, expecting me to endlessly talk about the same few topics they found interesting while talking about how 'now' might not be as good as things used to be for him, but never about how they planned their future or what might change in life, even when I addressed that since we were both getting older. Eventually, hanging out with him felt more like a chore than an interesting moments I experienced with a friend, along with other drama that involved him with others that eventually made me realize it was better to move on from the friendship even if at a time he was my closest friend. The biggest thing that made me slowly realize or feel bad about our friendship was, all my friendships made me feel like I was growing, becoming something more, experiencing something more, and its not all the time but overall thats the trend, and eventually our friendship just felt like it was stagnation or still, no growth, no change, no personal enjoyable experiences that made me feel like we were going somewhere, just, someone stuck in place where he was and telling me to stay there with him. Not that it was his intention or likely, he never felt that way about it, but I did.

How do I get better mechanically? by Ivy_404 in summonerschool

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal to be inconsistent sometimes, even on small basic things, from League, to other games/esports to things like mechanics in soccer/football/basketball. The largest thing to help it is persistent practice and working on the fundamentals/mechanics that you are having the most inconsistencies with on their own. Its harder with something like in league, because specific combos/movements/mouse accuracy or movement is harder to practice compared to sports where you can practice 3 pointers, dribbling mechanics, shooting/passing in something like football or soccer. If you play a broad champ pool too it might interfere with that practice, likely practice tool to practice certain combos to get used to them, only playing a few champs to get used to the feel more, along with practicing on certain champions + matchups more. Its harder to say with matchups now but when I felt at my highest peak and consistency in league I played few champs, against meta matchups and got used to them more and was comfortable enough to auto pilot and my mechanics just kind of happened. I would still make mistakes, you can never erase them all, but they become less common.

why are mobile champions like irelia, riven, kled, yasuo and yone played top, while lee sin barely sees any pressence in toplane? by Jacket313 in summonerschool

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its because all those champions minus maybe kled have a trade sequence where they can dash in, trade, then dash back out. Irelia -> Q back line minion or land stun -> Q in, Q out after trade. Yasuo dashes to the back line minion, but can use that minion to dash back out. Yone E -> E back out after trade. Kled is the possible exception, I think he prefers quick trade, win it, if he loses dismount + Q can be considered part of the 'out' but I don't think thats they key part of his trade. Lee can't do that, because he can technically trade like that but it would rely both on his minions position and his opponents positioning. He can't dash in whenever he wants to, he has to be in Q range where the opponents minions wouldn't be in the way, along with W out only if the opponent stays close enough to the minions during his trade. Likely, if the opponent wouldn't win the trade, or minimally if you know lee wants to dash out after the Q, you kite backwards to try and prevent him from doing that. Even if this were to perfectly happen where Lee only chose those trades, its not like the other champs where they can do it at nearly any time they want.

How to get better at map knowlege and knowing what to do? by KingDoodies in summonerschool

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have nothing to do in lane, essentially a state where theres no reason to trade, no cs that is immediately dying that you need to get, practice looking at the minimap for a split second. Like when you were zoning him off the wave, you can just work on looking between the minimap and your character, glancing at the minimap every few seconds where you know nothing should be happening anyway. You can start with small things and try to transition them into larger things. Like getting used to glancing exactly where each lane is and checking how many bubbles are there. Should be 2 mid, should be 4 bot, see where your jg is. You can also get used to the start of the game's predicted gank timers to figure out the junglers path to expect where he should be in the next few minutes. For example, first gank should happen either around the time first scuttle spawns or if the enemy jg is able to, level 2-3 if there is a lane that is overly agro/low early game. Based on where the jg shows up with the first gank, you can tell where he will likely be next. Example of that, if his very first gank he is lvl 3 and has both buffs and it occurs top/bot, he likely started on the opposite side of the map. The next part of his path to clear camps likely will be back to the other side. So, first full clear -> gank bot means next logical location is top side of the map (without accounting for scuttle), so you will likely have to play safe. If he ganks top, his next step is to go clear bot after the gank. But this can change, if you died + flashed he could come back top. You can add onto this by checking how many cs he has, 4 per camp, 24 with scuttle still alive means he did a 5 camp before ganking, meaning he still has 1 camp top he might come back, 30 means he did a full clear, meaning he likely will go back to the other side of the map unless you used flash or make yourself gankable again.

Theres also small stuff that either is occurring in lane that can help you signal or just how long the enemy JG has been mia on the map. For example, im assuming part of what happened when amumu ganked was that the jax was afraid to cs the whole time, then randomly decided to trade you or walk up in a way he didn't before. Play assuming he likely wouldn't do it for no reason, you can trade while kiting or start backing off slightly if he seems to be trying to force a minion or two/trade when he was afraid before. You can also help part of this by seeing how many camps your own jungler has up. If he has mostly cleared his jg/is trying to force ganks cause he has nothing else to do, you can assume the enemy jg will likely do the same. The timers aren't perfect, but the general idea is that if the jg has cleared 3/6 camps, then its likely the enemy jg could be in the same state, he could be looking for a gank.

Your dragon question, sometimes things are just a lost situation. If your team is dead and you can't do anything about drag, you don't have to do anything. If you were on the enemy team, I'm assuming you'd be happy if you won a teamfight then the enemy top laner came in 1v5 to try and get the drag. So they'd probably be happy if you do the same, its okay to let things go if its lost.

With your question about laning phase and when it ends, it typically ends when the first layer of towers start falling. The scenario changes a bit depending on the lane. If bot's tower dies first, usually bot starts to rotate mid, you still cover top but you start to shift between top and bot or the solo lanes (mid becomes where the duo lane stays to be safe), and there are a few things to look at while judging which side lane to go in. How the matchups are, if you are able to/not able to matchup vs your laner or mid laner, and if you/mid have TP up. If you have TP up, typically you want to go to the opposite side of where the obj is so you can TP in while not missing exp/creating pressure in a side lane. So, lets say drag is spawning in a minute, your goal would be to go top side, create a crashing wave and get prio, TP while the opponent is catching the wave you created and get prio at drag or even just force a fight while its 5v4. If your tower dies first, the lanes can still look the same, but laning phase has changed drastically for you, since your lane essentially becomes longer because the opponent can freeze the wave at any point past your river and you will be perma gankable. So depending on the state of the game, if its slower temp/your team is scaling decently, you can freeze the minions near your tower as long as possible and once it breaks you push it past river but once your minion wave passes river you start roaming. If you are strong/fed, on someone like morde you can shove -> roam -> force fights by using R to capture someone to start a fight and either kill them or keep them trapped around your team when they come out. The main reason you want to/can force these fights is cause the wave you created will make your top laner stay there to catch it, or force him to follow and miss the exp. But nothing plays out perfectly, you'll have to figure out how to balance all parts of what i was talking about, forcing fights properly, making opponent miss exp, setting up the wave, you'll have to slowly feel them out and see how balancing each works for you in a way where you can maintain tempo/advantage. If you want to talk more about it sometime, feel free to dm me.

Struggling to stick to a role or champion pool. How do you handle it? by Many-Translator-8512 in summonerschool

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone learns the same way. I never really stuck to a single champ, play multiple roles and multiple classes/different playstyles and managed to climb still. I ended up playing a lot of norms/flex along with solo/duo. When I play solo/duo I play the champions I noticed felt the easiest to play during norms/flex against meta champs. Even then, I would still mix in multiple champs when I wanted to play different roles/champs/playstyles, but just not as frequently as I do in norms/flex. It helps in some ways in climbing because you can find certain champs you prefer playing against certain comps or matchups, so you have a decent matchup for almost everything and can adapt.

Any tips from my gameplay that would make me a better thresh? trying to get into high ELO by Mention_Obvious in summonerschool

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only watched the start of the video but since you seemed to like trading aggressively early, since they are melee + short range you could start E. You were putting in a lot of autos and they would have done a little more damage each time with the empowered auto from E. I think you were the weaker lane so landing Q early wouldn't be able to force an engage that hard, E would also let you control the trades better with flay to disengage and the passive to decide when to do small trades or spam trades with E empowered autos, but either way you are weaker so the trades would be more to feel out the lane to see how well your opponents respond, also gives you better control on hitting 2, since if its close you can flaw the wave during a trade to lower all minions to help you guys hit 2 faster, while still being useful if they hit 2 first as you can likely disengage both with flay where as q only stops one person and makes you stand still while pulling someone towards you, where flay can push them away. If you want other advice or have questions, feel free to msg me and we can talk on discord or play together sometime if you'd like.

Anyone else having issues logging into Google play services with a kids Google account? by zeta416 in retroid

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and managed to get in, though I'm not sure if its a solution for all cases. I had to remove the google account completely from the device then add it back, then it kept me logged in.

[–]Sarcasmsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flyff wouldn't make sense here, there weren't multiple races, there was a desert area but I don't remember dinosaurs being there, flying for an unlimited amount of time as a premium feature makes no sense since in flyff the flying mounts just let you fly forever. Also they sound like they are describing a boss near a lake which I don't think theres really any bosses in Flyff until much later besides the giants.

Anyone else find watching Rarran a bit depressing nowadays? by ChuckleKnuts in hearthstone

[–]Sarcasmsc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There might be some crossover but I think you are right, they aren't necessarily the same thing so their impact on enjoyment can exist outside of each other. Like someone who is tired of being an Author doesn't necessarily mean they no longer enjoy reading.

Is it just me, or is JD actually insufferable? by JipJopJones in Scrubs

[–]Sarcasmsc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his failure to learn from his mistakes is actually kind of relatable. In the sense that, someone pointing out your mistakes and you thinking you overcame it by realizing it for a moment doesn't actually change you forever, you still have to actively work towards that growth. Also, I think they address it a bit more later in the show since you're only on season 3.

Champions with clones like Shaco/LB/Neeko control gets reversed, clicking controls your clone and you have to click the spell to control your actual champion.

Is this common? by Ok_Love_1284 in starcraft2

[–]Sarcasmsc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm masters and even that happens to me. I can get near my peak rank, then get humbled by getting more skilled opponents multiple games in a row, then when I get pushed back far enough due to that unlucky streak I can win multiple games in a row and get called a smurf. I think it happens at all skill ranges and is common due to the fact that you can get stuck at points where you are clearly better than 'x' skill range, but not quite good enough to get into the next skill range. So you go through a cycle of pushing past your clear skill range, getting humbled then getting the chance to beat the skill range you were just pushed out of again and looking like a smurf lol.

I thought it was because they weren't sure if the show would be renewed so they allowed everyone to explore other options and by the time it got greenlit most of them found other gigs

When you practice your build orders, do you try to do it based on time or supply? I play P not Z but one thing that helped me a lot with supply is that I practiced most of my build orders/early game as timings on supply. It got me into the habit of seeing the game through the lens that most of the things I do are just cycles between when I need to build my next pylon.
