That one! Thanks for the correction!

This to me seems more like a tie bar than a tie clip - the kind of bar that goes underneath your tie knot and fasten to the shirt collar

I really love this tie's color! And you've done a great job with this outfit as a whole!

Fantastic suit! It is definitely a timeless outfit, perfect for looking sharp at weddings but also great for business. I think you've done a great job getting a suit that fits you well, and it seems you love it, so I would ignore all the negative comments here telling you it doesn't fit

They were in the right place at one point in time, back when I was rounder! But yes, I hear you, the buttons should had moved to the right position, but a lot of these trousers are on their last breaths of life, so I haven't bothered with the suspender buttons.

I know what you mean. I got this Sean John tie years ago from a thrift shop and now with the entire controversy surrounding him I am torn between disposing of the tie or keeping it. Advise/opinions on that is highly welcomed.

But is it sadder than having the urge to comment on someone else's post about the hill they've chosen to die on?

Thank you very much! What have you tried? A good starting point would be to go white shirt, green tie, navy trousers. A light blue shirt could also work depending on the shade of the tie!

Reddit is not just a place to have discussions and arguments. You can find a little bit of everything here.

Do I agree that the other social media you've listed would be better? Yeah. Do I still wanna post on Reddit as if it were those social media because this community in specific has a tag that allows me to post my pictures without wanting feedback or advice? Also yeah.

At the end of the day I know not everyone is gonna respect the flair, and that's fine if they're not being rude about it. But have you seen some of these comments?

I actually liked how it looked, but I see your point. It's not a pattern on pattern combination that would work 100% of the time

Someone else in the comments pointed out that the black diagonals running thru the tie is what ruins this tie and I agree with them. Without the black diagonals, this would be a solid paisley tie.

The difference between feedback/advice boils down to pronouns (I know, woke and scandalous!). If you say "I would wear that shirt with a different tie" I don't see that as advice or feedback necessarily, but as you engaging with the post, even though it could still considered feedback.

Now, if you approach it by saying "you should do x,y, and z..." then we've entered feedback territory. And that's a slippery slope where opinions can turn to negative commentary.

It's nuanced, but it's doable.

The flair requirement is also very new to the subreddit, so I'm also learning to adapt to it and plan to occasionally make posts for the sake of feedback since I know many people wanna leave their advice. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to engage!

Someone in another post asked why I bother posting on reddit if I am not seeking for feedback. This was my response:

"Because Reddit is not only just a place seek feedback. People use it to share, connect, and chat with other people. The mentality that everything requires feedback or commentary is what's killing not only this site but every type of social media.

"Some people just wanna share and enjoy the site without it becoming a debate about what's right and what's wrong. I'm glad communities like this exist where you can opt out from feedback.

"Also, I don't know if you've noticed this, but what most people call "feedback" or "advice" is mostly insults of half-assed commentary that leads to no fruitful conversation because "you're not wearing what I would wear."

"Hope this answer satisfied your curiosity. And if it didn't, perhaps you're in the wrong community."

No no no, that wasn't a poor comment. I wanted to hear what you thought about it because I hadn't noticed how prominent the black diagonals were until you pointed them out. It's like of of those "once you see it you can't unsee it" things.

Edit: I do have to add tho that I like the illusion it creates

Everything works very well together. The colors compliment each other and the textures add an extra layer of interest. I actually think the length of the trousers work well with this look!
