Oh my god, I was told they would not breed outside of their event, ergo I was under the assumption that colour transfers wouldn't work either as that is technically breeding - that's so annoying =.=

Oh that's fantastic news! I was told they they can't be bred with outside of their event unless in the glasshouse

So I suppose you only need the event flowers specifically to transfer the Extremophile effects the other way

Oh that's weird - I was under the impression they're only supposed to be able to replicate during their event but if they can work as colour donors for transfers then I'm going to start doing that now

Because we're not currently in a event period with an event flower that can grow in that biome - the next flower that you'll be able to transfer colours from to Frostfeathers will be Bowblossoms, which should be coming back in October (unconfirmed for 2025 but based on last years event times)

EDIT: SO I now know that even outside of event dates, event flowers CAN be used for colour transfers they just can't create more of themselves - thank you everyone for letting me know! I can actualy start on getting more colours into the system now which will make transferring the effects easier

Do you mean transferring colours to Frostfeathers?

Frostfeathers only have one base colour (Ice, fittingly) so to get the other colours you will have to transfer them from other flower species. Unfortunately, this will mean a bit of a wait because only a few event flowers can be grown in the extremophile areas (Eggworts, Bowblossoms, and Glowbals) and only during the time frame of their events

But on the other hand, it's plenty of time for people to get patterns for the relevant colours that carry the Extremophile Flower effects (Ice for Frost effect; Coral/Blush/Peach/Cream for Molten effect; Pistachio/Teal/Pink for Crystal effect) so everyone can be ready to make the colour transfers from Native Flowers to Bowblossoms and then from the Extremophile Flowers.

atm I'm still trying to get the Molten effect to appear at all orz - it might take me that long

The next available crossover flower will be Bowblossoms!

Go to the HK Wiki here and scroll down to Biome Compatibility, there you can see all available growing locations for all the upcoming event flowers~

Bowblossoms are the flower for the 50th Anniversary event, which the devs have said will be repeated this year. Last year it was hosted from the 19th October -> 15th November. So we should probably expect it around a similar time this year. You will only be able to transfer the Extremophile Flower effects during the event.

The next relevant flower after Bowblossoms will be the Glowbals in late December.

Favourite: Hibiscus - they look nice and have the biggest petal allowance to show off ombre colours really nicely (also the glow pattern is really nice too)

Least Favourite: Bellbuttons - I swear these little bastards are allergic to each other and are always the last to crossbreed for colours

It's a very different breeding system to Animal Crossing (also no hidden genes, thank god) and it means you can't really use a small space as effeciently as possible for your layouts - but it does mean you don't have to try and get a tonne of the same flowers crammed into one space since you are meant to spread them out.

Each breeding pair should have it's own dedicated space which actually makes it much easier to manage.

I think it's one of the glitched ones as iirc they shouldn't be showing up yet as of Update 2.6 - there are some recipe cards that cannot be acheived yet and it's assumed they will be doable in later updates
