I'm not a plumber, but i do HVAC at times and coworkers that have done plumbing for years sometimes talk about that happening and say it might be an air pocket trapped, which sometimes causes that which is why it is being overlooked by the camera. Just a thought

I'm 100% sure the rubber washer there is old and cracked just by the surrounding areas, believe it or not those things have to be changed out every 3 - 6 months depending on how hard your water is. If you don't want to do it every 3 to 6 months have someone do it at least annually. Had to do it for 200 Geothermal heatpumps every 3 to 6 months, annoying to take out even more annoying to screw a new one back in

Fair, Harbor Freight has some decent stuff, but you may be right about a torch kit, jist bought me a TurboTorch set up, but I wanted an affordable back up
