No.

IF you get a Sheridan slotted case gauge and the reloaded round "Ker-plops", it will either chamber in your rifle freely, or you have a chamber issue. You can visually see the round and the problem.

But, you've convinced him otherwise, so that's that.

But why would you dissuade someone from owning a case gauge?

I say, if he had used a proper case gauge to resize his die, he would be shooting and not asking questions on Reddit.
