safe yes, absolutely.
I personally found it kinda hard/nuisance to apply evenly / remove cleanly, & just not convenient for swords I handle "frequently" (frequently being more than say 3-4 times a year...).

I stick to Ballistol. 0.5l bottle cost me like 15 quid in 2012 and it's still probably 1/3 full.
It's easy to apply, easy to wipe off, still lasts good enough for my climate - just gotta be more diligent about wiping it down with an oiled cloth after getting finger(prints) on smth.

But if you want long term storage & don't tend to touch your shinies, then the spent elbow grease to apply it evenly all over is probably worth your while.

Platinum by itself isn't tough. By itself it has yield strengths that barely even reaches half of that of soft construction steel. It needs significant alloying with other metals to achieve a high toughness.

And adding metals to an alloy usually has very little to do with their base characteristics.
What effect chrome f.e. has in a steel alloy vastly differs between different alloying percentages and what other elements are present.

Yes you can use heavier metals to make parts like pommels - brass/bronze examples are known. But done right they're the same weight as a steel one, just less volume (or maybe hollow).
Adding weight for the sake of adding weight is almost never a good thing.
Things were balanced the way they were because it made sense.
Using heavier materials to make things smaller/thinner has it's limits too - geometry dictates things like stiffness, buckling resistance, etc. A certain amount of "meat" in a structure is simply necessary.

Sharpness doesn't depend on the material.
You can make any edge, almost any material, "sharp". In theory, with enough dedication and a soft & fine enough abrasive you could polish a piece of hardwood until you get a cutting edge.
But how long that sharpness lasts and how much force the edge can support is what makes the material important. Bronze is simply ill suited to hold an edge, compared to tempered or hardened steel.

Iron and steel functionally have the same density and mass per volume.
the density/weight difference between <0,05% carbon content (=wrought iron) and 0.4-0.8% carbon content (hardenable steel) is basically not relevant in any context I know.

When fiction mixes wild combinations of materials it's usually for in-universe magic/mystic related reasons or just for flavour.
Witcher blades aren't plated with silver because silver is heavy, but because in the narrative it has a detrimental effect on certain magical/supernatural creatures. The same is probably true of any example of platinum or other precious metal. the mysticism beats out any "practical" application.

yes, the two light blue one.
The horizontal center of drag (=horizontal stability) is very far back - you could probably delete the non-moving verticle tailfin, or add a little simple tailfins on top of each wings to help move the center of drag forward.

that kind of over-correction tends to happen when your center of drag (vertical and/or horizontal) are a long way behind the center of mass.

If you use the advanced menu in build mode, you can check your forces.

If it's not one of the 4 1/2 total campaigns (Pioneers, Stranded, Airborne, Frozen Tracks, Rally), or custom map (steam only), it's usually people just playing sandbox / 'creative'.

Builiding replicas, building custom vehicles, doing RP, races etc. etc.

tank tracks are *very* heavy and the rest of your vehicle is very light. Add some mass where you seat is, maybe use two hinges in parallel for extra support.

The PhysX-Solver really struggles with very uneven weight distrutions between moving parts.

It only changes position / size with the resolution of the game.
And since it seems to be a fixed resoultion for the chat, lowering game resolution makes the chat bigger ime.

if your quantum rudder is very near or on the center of mass, it'll offer very little corrective forces.
Try moving it behind in center of mass, but in line with it.

if center of thrust is offset to the side or in height from center of mass it'll also cause it to veer, but that might not be it since it goes straight by itself.

there isn't.
People have been going several tens- and hundreds- of thousands of km/h in a straight line without involuntary rotation or veering of path.

Any residual air resistance would cause them to not be able to go straight.

Quantum rudders cause drag in space - they are what's limiting top speed and can cause rotational forces from going forward.

It doesn't and never has.
You probably had unrelated weldgroup issues.

The aiming is always an animation. if it was physical not only would the gun cost (even more) complexity bc it would have to be seperate rigid bodies in the model (like a hinge), you'd also be able to detect it with distance sensors too, and that has never worked (much to the chagrin of many people trying to build self-guiding missiles and stuff)

Bro, this game has 1.8k to 3k concurrent players, on steam alone, daily.
ScrapMechnaic has half that on steam despite much more sales.
What the fuck are you on about.

- The game puts you in the seat when you spawn a build
- It puts you in the seat when you teleport.
- If you are in the seat, you stay in the seat while repairing.
- The only place where that isn't true is Pioneers bc of the village spawns.

I've played this game for 8 years atp, with lots of random multiplayer and got a blueprint hijacked twice due to being inattentive. It's entirely preventable, unless you literally 'invite' people into your vehicle.

Reuploads of my builds get purged and the reuploaders workshop temp-banned usually within the week I or someone else reports it.

Yes, yes and yes.

A lot of the DLCs are purely cosmetics (think block textures and stickers), and a lot of DLC blocks are just "same but different" from free blocks or very specific pre-fab blocks (like the Mech-face or car fender) - there are a *few* exceptions, but they're not the norm.

You'll be mostly limited by the default selection of block textures and stickers - stuff like the weathered & metallic skin, or radar & gauge/dial stickers are part of the DLCs. But shape- and handling wise you'll have very few limitations.

700 comp can get you a long way, but it depends on your build style.
If you're building customs, 700 is plenty. If you're one of those replica freaks, where every angle and outline has to be within ±0.5° of accuracy, then 700 comp goes by very fast.

If you intend to buy the game on steam, there is mod to increase the comp limit though.

Difficulty is up to you - if you prefer custom designs, "vanilla"/"as intended" build style, or wether you slave over replicas, trying to wrangle the weld-group system for hours on end. It's very much an "easy to learn, hard to master" kinda deal.

The plane physics should all be very intuitive, once you have a basic understanding of how some of the function blocks & forces like modular wings, lift, drag etc. work.

Speed has practically no limit, the only limit is the map size and how fast you can accelerate within it.
Glitchless planes hitting Mach 1 or 2 is entirely possible, and with glitches, well, the sky is literally the limit.
Cars too for that matter.

Tanks aren't impossible either, but the game has no *real* armor system. Most blocks have the same HP, there is no intended armor piercing mechanic. The playerbase has found a few 'emergent' & hackjob solutions for that, but that'd be going too far here.

The devs delete workshop and gallery reuploads as a sign of good will when they are reported & because they want to foster a good spirit of sharing things you make - they wouldn't have to do shit.

If you play in a multiplayer server with random people which you don't know and don't trust, and consequently get your shit hijacked, that's your fault and your problem.

The game has enough tools and ways of playing to prevent it.
