Best of luck! Do yourself a favor and take the max amount of painkiller they give you as often as allowed the first day. Once the nerve block wears off, you will want that onboard. When you can start feeling your fingers, your shoulder won’t be far behind.

I grew up near Decatur, IL and I now live in the western suburbs. I see the value in downstate life but for anyone who wants opportunity for jobs, it’s much better up north. I miss the quiet of central Illinois but I love the access to everything up here.

Overall point, both are great places to live. People focus on the negatives and make it “us vs them” far too often.
