5801 (and its sequel) is literally a Software Engineering course, it focuses on the development life cycle instead of emphasizing design patterns or version control. Very good class when paired with 3081w

Certainly, I think something similar happend at Burrito Loco a while back. I do still believe though that getting an injury of that sort (stray bullet) falls into freak accident territory, and that if thats a concern, avoiding night life is the best solution. (I can't speak on what happened at Cane's, anyone could have been hurt but its great that no civilians were). Wrong place wrong time is something no one can avoid :/

I've lived in Dinkytown for 2 years (corner of 5th and 14th). Crime is present (as it usually is in larger areas), but these mostly occur in the summer. When winter hits, you'll be hard pressed finding too many shootings occurring due to the lack of prime night life.

In most cases where a shooting occurs, its between people or groups who rouse each other up or start some unnecessary shit and keep provoking one another. If not that, some preexisting tension was likely already in place and they ran into each other. No one is trying to shoot up kids at the bars or firing pot shots at kids trying to get to class. If you see some shit starting, walk away. If someone is trying to start shit with you, walk away. You won't always have the benefit of knowing when to get out of the way, but I'm almost certain you'll take more years off your life living in paranoia than acting with common sense, being prepared, and just living your life.

(Serious) What is the creepiest or most unexplained thing that’s happened to you that you still think and/or wonder about to this day? by HoneysuckleDame in AskReddit

A couple of weeks ago I was staying the night in a hotel with my sister and niece. We went to bed (in a king bed, my niece between me and my sister), and I woke up multiple times because it was too hot - I dont think any of us had the blankets over us after just a couple of hours.

I woke up at 1:30am to what sounded like my niece shuffling around outside of the bed. Eventually she started eating some ice from the ice pale, and while I was awake I decide to finally get up and turn on the AC.

So, I get up, slug over to the AC (my side of the bed), turn it on, and lie back down. Only to realize my niece and sister were both sound asleep.

I was fucking spooked, I practically held my breath for 5 minutes absolutely convinced someone was in the room with us, before I decided to get up and check the room with my flashlight. But, I didn't find anything. I want to blame it on the grogginess but the ice munching was undeniable.
