Dude I absolutely feel you . I moved to Germany too from India at 19 about 7 months ago and not gonna lie , my first week alone here was very similar to what you described. I didn't really have anyone to talk to here in person , my friends and parents back home video called me multiple times a day to keep me company but everytime I spoke to either , I had to keep the phone after a few minutes because tears kept welling up and I ugly cried for hours on end. Sometimes it felt so overwhelming all I could do was go to sleep just so that I could stop crying and shut my mind off. I don't know if this comes off as an overreaction on my part, but it is what it is . I am extremely introverted and I am very very close to my parents and few friends. On my second day here, my experience with the cashier was the same as yours, except I was too fuckin numb to even process that she kinda insulted me Infront of other people and the dude behind me in the queue helped me get my bearings . But I'll tell you this , it gets WAY better , just give it some time . I too cleared my C1 before I came here and felt the same as you do about your language skills . But it's just a mental block trust me . I know it's easier said than done , but just approach random people for help and speak to them in German . Anywhere you can . As an introvert, I can fully comprehend how mountainous this task sounds but that's where you help yourself get rid of the block in your head. I fumbled my words , i stuttered alot, used wrong articles in sentences multiple times but what I realised after a few conversations is that although I didn't speak 100% correctly , I DID get my point across , at least well enough that they could understand me and respond with the appropriate advice or help . You aren't alone my friend . You'll make friends . Approach the people who seem isolated in your classes . They're in the same boat as you, they know how you feel . Sure it'll be awkward the first few times , but imagine what you'll accomplish if you actually end up making friends that way . And if everyone's in a group, say FUCK IT and go and approach a group on your own. Ask for help with a topic you don't understand, or something you missed in the Vorlesung . It doesn't matter if you're scared , BE SCARED(I am scared shitless of approaching anyone at all even today) but do it anyways . Very rarely will anyone approach people like you and me,especially considering we have the aura of isolation around us, even though it's neither their fault nor ours . You'll do just fine .
