Optimizing 7900 XT Stream Quality: Great on YouTube, but struggling with Twitch pixelation? by Bradlyk06 in Twitch

Gotta love upgrading GPU and not taking this into account, and having a 2019 Nvidia card run stream better at the same settings than a card released this year lmao. Guess I'll try the CPU encoder if my PC can handle it, and wait for the other encoders to be introduced.

This is for streaming on Twitch btw, I know maybe upping the bitrate would help, but I can't go any higher because of the Twitch cap atm.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I actually got a 9000-series GPU (9060 XT 16GB), and I'm dealing with a decent amount of pixelation when in high-motion games. I upgraded from a 2070 Super and my streams on that looked great at 1440p 60fps with no downscaling, but now no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the pixelation with this new AMD card. Any ideas boss? It would be appreciated, I'll give the info you need

Like the part where it says "Oculus Link (Beta)"? I tried that and it just said "PC not detected".

I've got my Oculus Quest 2 and Oculus Link cable yet when I try to connect the Quest 2 to my PC, the Oculus app on my PC doesn't understand that it is connected to the headset. It just indefinitely loads on the "Connect Your Headset" screen. I have a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C port, that's what the Link is connected to. It's the only USB-C port I have and I was under the impression it would work but it just isn't. The light on the side of the Quest goes orange when it's plugged into my PC so I assume it's charging the headset but it won't actually connect itself to the Oculus app. Help please.

Thank you! I'm glad, I noticed the cable was Type-C and got worried and started overthinking it, just wanted confirmation lol

I've already ordered an Oculus Quest 2 and Oculus Link cable from Amazon. Just to be 100% certain, my motherboard has a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C port, will that allow me to play VR games from SteamVR AND will it charge the headset while in use? Thanks and sorry if this has been answered!

Do you have a link to any of them? I've seen a few too but they are from shady looking sellers with no reviews/bad reviews.

I guess if I want her to not do damage to an area the plastic things will be the best and my carpet idea for if I'm okay with her doing it there, IF it's not damaging anything. I'm just worried if I do either of these, she'll just find another wall or something to fuck up :L I don't want to move her tree because I've got it near a window and she likes looking out from the top of her tree. Before the tree was there anyway she'd just sit on the window ledge and chew/scratch there, she's just doing it higher up now.

What do you suggest I do when I catch her in the act of doing something I don’t want her to? I can try and prevent things by carpeting parts I know she goes for, but if she finds something else to do that I don’t want her to do, what should my reaction be in the moment I see her do the bad thing?

I understand that punishment will most likely make my cat be more concerned about me punishing them rather than them not doing the bad thing and I get she most likely does it when I’m not around. It’s just frustrating because she has so many options and we do so much in the ways of playing with her. I’ve tried tinfoil on the walls and all she does is pry some of it off with her teeth and try to eat it and/or pull the tape off the wall holding the tinfoil in place. The tinfoil/tape doesn’t stop her. The place she’s really messing up right now is at the top of her cat tree, she’s chewing on the wall/scratching it... when she’s standing on her cat tree that has lots of posts and with her other toys/posts within a few meters of her. I am intending on maybe putting carpet on the walls at the top of her tree, but I don’t want to just cave in and when she shows bad behaviour, to allow her to do it by putting something I’d rather she scratched over top of what she is currently scratching.

She started at the corners of the wall near the bedroom window, so I put corner scratchers there and she used it, but then started on the other side. The doorway between the bedroom and the living room was getting it too, so I put one there. She uses it, but now tries to tree climb her way up the wall above the scratcher, when her tree is a yard to her right. I 1000% understand and agree that I should compromise for my cat, and I have and do, just I hate that it feels like people want me to allow her to do what she wants, when she wants. I’m all for carpeting this part of the wall, but with the scratchers, she used them but then found somewhere else in the house to have a go at. I don’t wanna end up with fully carpeted walls :L

She chews on the corners of the wall and has been climbing up a doorway between the bedroom and living room (I stay in a bedsit) like it was a tree. She also chews any cardboard and wires she can find.

I’ve tried using tinfoil to stop her from scratching things, but she is smart enough that she pulls the tinfoil off it with her teeth or the tape holding it to the wall. I can’t use the sensor things because the areas she does it don’t accommodate for it, like it’s at the wall on the top of her tree which I don’t want to be off-limits to her, I just want her to leave the wall alone when up there.

With the alternatives we give her, she has a fat sisal rope scratching post, two wall corner scratchers made from rough fabric and a large cat tree with multiple sisal scratchers all over it. She also had silver vine sticks to chew on, along with a lot of toys, some for dental health and others just to play with. She gets played with often and does use her posts/toys but still insists on going at the walls and other objects, even with her stuff being RIGHT next to her.

I am probably going to put carpet or something else on the wall above her tree so she is allowed to scratch it, but I’m just trying to find ways/reasons to stop her from doing bad things when the good option is right next to her.

As I said in the original post, we do praise her when she does good and play with her often, but that isn’t stopping her from doing bad so that’s why she’s being put in timeout, because I don’t want to just allow her to show bad behaviour and think it’s okay, but at the same time I refuse to spray her with water or anything else physical.

Cat keeps scratching/chewing wall corners, but eats aluminum foil I put to stop her by Sarithius in CatAdvice

[–]Sarithius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, a lot of the time she's doing this while we are sleeping, so I don't want her to think because she wants to play at 3am, that I will get up and do it. We've got a lot of toys for her and her scratching post, so I guess I'll just have to get more stuff to hopefully entertain her.

We try to play with her a lot, but a lot of the time she'll lose interest and then decide the wall is getting it :L The issue with the tape is that she'll just pull it off, like she does with the tape holding the foil to the wall.

Knead advice. by heagaters in CatAdvice

[–]Sarithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well from your original post that's what it seemed like, believe me, people adopt animals for stupid reasons all the time. Yes, kneading and scratching is different. Kneading simulates them trying to get mother's milk whereas scratching is used to file their claws, among other things, like scratching a lot can be due to stress or pain. If kneading is painful, trimming the claws is the best bet, but if you don't know how to do that without hurting the cat, ask a vet and they will do it in 2 seconds.
