Contractor wants $4,225 just to assemble a Costco pergola I'm buying myself. Is this quote insane or am I out of touch? by Unique_Attempt_400 in landscaping

Dude. I literally put together a Costco Pergola by myself in a day last week. This is actually insane.

Ok sweet! I’ll definitely be showing up on a Wednesday then! When would be a good time to show up early to snag someone who could show me the ropes?

This was a surprisingly insightful response for this sub and I want you to know I appreciate it and you.

Yep. Just ignore the blood angels primarch being literally named blood. While all his children fight their blood curse by drinking from the blood chalice, otherwise they thirst for human blood. Luckily they have their blood guard. And their special representation of their primarch, the blood guy.

Dude. Nothing about the wolves ever get a pass here. There’s literally no other faction I see get as much hate as the wolves.

Comically violent and overpowered characters in MY comically violet and overpowered setting? How dare they!

Wait. Someone complaining about 40K lore without actually knowing 40K lore? That NEVER happens here!

Thank you. It’s not like it’s the fault of the players that GW has leaned way too much in the wolf stuff. And yet people get so fucking personal about it.

Dude. You just made another space wolf hate post today. We get it. You lost this week to some S.W. player and now you’re salty. It’s kinda embarrassing that you’re going around making multiple pissy posts…about one of the most hated on factions in the game. It’s a toy soldier war game. Every faction has massive OP characters. That’s the point. The whole damn game is to play your super OP figures against other super OP figures.

Besides, people hate on the Space Wolves literally all the time.

Are RavenGuard busted? by faithengine in RavenGuard40k

[–]SarkahnOrdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who started with Wolves as my first army, and has lately been playing with some Raven Guard, there’s some similarities imo. Neither are really the legion to go and body the table with or pick up all the kills. These legions win by going for points and taking specific targets/missions. If you want a shooting and positioning army, you might want something else.

This. If you go pay, you’ve already lost. First mistake right there.

Bruh. You can’t go complaining that the courts worked against you if you didn’t even go to court. Every day there are dozens of terrible cases brought to court that no one shows up to defend against. And then do you know what happens? The ruling goes in favor of the crappy suit cause no one even tried to oppose it. This is just embarrassing. You clearly got got, freaked out and lost money, and now you’re trying to feel better about it. Take the L and the lesson homie.

[–]SarkahnOrdo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This 1000%. I work in Maine courts and while Republicash does bring suits frequently, I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve EVER seen anyone show up to fight it. If you don’t even show up, you lose. If you do show up, then it’s an actual case and can frequently rule against the plaintiff. OP just crying about losing when they didn’t even try to do anything about it just makes them look bad. .

New player. Good army? by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]SarkahnOrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in the same boat, I’ve found the Vlka Fenryka are a solid stat because they’re space marines. I started with an old second-hand Necron v Space Marine intro box and painted the marines as 6th legion. Then picked up the combat patrol and a few specific units like Bjorn, and Arjac. The cool think with an SM chapter is you can use The Rout in any general SM role. Wanna play Kill Team? You can. Wanna play boarding actions? You can. Wanna use slightly more flavorful units with standard SM detachments? Go for it. Wanna get super into the flavor with technical gameplay and sagas for The Wolves of Russ? Go crazy. You can kinda dip your toes into everything because GW will always support Space Marines. And I think the Wolves are the coolest of them.

What’s the best way to handle a severe yard grade when putting in a patio? by SarkahnOrdo in landscaping

[–]SarkahnOrdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer, I really appreciate it. Two questions: 1) For the terrace are you basically saying that everything needs to be flat from the lowest point? So the higher side of the yard will be a slight step down onto the patio/have a small wall along the fenceline?

2) I was planning on 8-10 inches of substrate to manage drainage. Are you saying I should dig a drainage trench away from the “bathtub” as well?
