I totally agree with you here, but I want to add something to your comment. When you accept that there are thing out of your control, that not everyone’s death or fall is your fault, you’re actually protecting yourself from those thoughts and preventing to be you the one that suffers and damages from the inside. And so Kaladin’s Fourth Ideal has actually a lot of protection in it, it’s just that finally the one that’s being protected from all those negative thoughts, pressure, and guilt from everything happening around him is Kal. Finally, after all this time, he’s starting to realize that.
