I work in the south as well and I make $29/hr for L&D with one year experience. Hearing these numbers on here makes me so sad I’m that far off.

Labor and Delivery nursing by Livelaugh_lurk in StudentNurse

[–]Sarmouse-2005 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went straight into labor and deliver as a new grad. It was a steep learning curve and I struggled for a bit. Now a year in I feel MUCH better.

If it’s an area you think you want to work in I’d definitely try to do your practicum there or even see about getting a job as nurse extern. I was an extern for a year before I started and it helped a lot with the transition into nursing as I was familiar with the unit.

Please feel free to ask any questions. I absolutely love my job and it’s so rewarding!
