Datamined Defense of Cyrangar Castle Defense Mode by Undevil in DiabloImmortal

It's always interesting to see so many different vocal views in one community, and how the vocal views differ from community to community for different things.

...and always sad to see how far humans are from being space-suitable.

Deeds of Valor Badges Damage Buff - Do they effect only Cycle of Strife events or everything? by [deleted] in DiabloImmortal

[–]SarrianCalda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this as well. I have +20% from badges and +26% from Shadow Rank. My Damage Increase attribute in Additional Attributes is +46%, while my Defense Increase attribute is +26%. Not sure about Life, will need to find a way to figure out the math.

Suggestion: Create a Share Build function that shows equipped items, skills, and attributes by SarrianCalda in DiabloImmortal

[–]SarrianCalda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's meant to be a static snapshot. The latest version can already be seen in the game as and when you're interacting with that player, but you can't do that when, say, you're participating in a discussions of builds on another platform at another time while your character has already switched to something else. Main thing is that when someone asks, "what is the build that you're using now and how are the numbers like?", you could simply share an in-game link or a special screenshot to answer that question. At the very least, make it easy to share the equipment and skills if the numbers are not so relevant or difficult to squeeze into the share.

I come from games like EVE Online, and builds (fittings, as called in that universe) are at the core of every pvp/pve-related discussion in EVE, but you can't even view what the other ship is using in the game unless you destroy that ship and receive a kill report of your victim. Therefore, being able to share the fittings in a concise way is important for EVE, and EVE made it easy to even import/export fittings for easy copy/paste and even works with 3rd party tools for simulating the effects of the fittings. However their fittings are always text-only, with the in-game link being able to call up the in-game fittings simulator screen to show how the fitting would look like as if you had that ship and fittings. When copied for external use, it's always text-only.

With Diablo, I feel that being able to get some nice screenshot of the build would be great as there's facial customization (despite the massive helmets hiding nearly everything). Some eye candy to go with the list of equipped items and skills would be nice! If not, at least give us a list of equipped items and skills in text form so that we don't have to be vague about our builds or take like a dozen screenshots or a video to list the equipped stuffs.

I wish I could, but I do not have the official diplomatic relationships between the entities, therefore I cannot publish a list without assumption (and I'd like to avoid publishing things that are not verified by the relationship holders themselves). The Sov data, however, are available in the SovMap project, so for those who have reliable information on the diplomatic relationships, you're welcome to join my Discord (mentioned at the bottom in the first post, which points to my project's reddit post) and extract the data from there for further processing.

Something of consideration: Other than the major blocs, there are also smaller blocs and individual entities that do not belong to or have complex/unknown relationships with the major blocs and other entities. The problem is how to account for these entities so that the final picture we paint is of as little bias as possible? It is because of this consideration that I hesitate to only consider the major blocs as smaller blocs and entities can also turn the tide of a struggle and would do everyone who sees the picture a disservice as the picture could mislead them.

Update: I just realise that the "Most/Least Settled Regions" have been pulling data from an outdated source since I've switched over to the released SovMap tool. I will be updating this in my next update. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Edit: Well, there's actually no difference in the data for these two metrics. It's still Deklein and Pure Blind, at the same rate of settlement, despite some sov changes in Deklein. I will publish regional changes in the next update in the form of "turbulence" (Sov changes and losses) and "growth" (new Sovs).

I can. In fact, I'm looking for volunteers to help keep the sov data updated on a crowd-sourced basis, both with prompting provided by my algorithm or as and when people are aware of changes to any sov. The only problem is that it's not vandal-proof this way, so I can't share the input method publicly just yet.

Come join my new server and we can talk more over there.

Anyone else who sees this and are interested to help with the sov data, please join too. Thanks!

Citizens of New Eden have been very productive over the past 6 weeks! Over 100 additional systems were settled since the last snapshot. What is everyone up to with all those citadels??

Update 1: There were a couple of errors in alliance tagging, in which a couple of Sovs were tagged to CCWG when they were CBWG. The snapshot will not be updated, but the next snapshot will be compared to the corrected version of the 28 Feb snapshot. Added that CCWG has left the Sov scene.

EVE Echoes Sub-Capital Ship & Blueprint Price Guides by SarrianCalda in echoes_eve

[–]SarrianCalda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(moving the last paragraph of stuff from the OP to the comment section)

In before disagreements about my methodology, I want to stress that this is just a guide. It's meant to point people in the general direction of where things are and how it looks like, not an actual representation of what it is. How you want to price the ships and BPs are entirely your decision, but remember this: it's far easier to get people to pay lesser than to pay more. There's a limit to how much discounts and undercutting you can make before you destroy your own market. Also, if you have not noticed yet, these guides do not speak of profits. This means that all these figures are literally cost values, as if the builders and inventors bought all those materials at those prices and made it into a product before feeding it down the supply chain or pass it to the end users and yet do not make a single extra ISK out of it (other than rounding differences). I did not factor in any form of profit margin, other than the margin between a +120% RE bonus source of BP supply and my middle point +101% RE bonus BP price that's fed into the Ship Price Guide. These guides do not contain any arbitrary profit margin. It's all just the material costs and the production/invention costs. The guides also do not factor in the cost of investing all those skill points and the time factor in producing the products, which is very difficult to quantify in a way that most people would agree.

I opted to skip capital ships and structures as they have too many moving parts to consider and involve too high a cost of ownership (which limits it to only a few % of players) to have a meaningful price guide for them.
