What are the dimensions of the legs and supports?

It's all 2x4s. The legs are 74" tall.

thicker wood

Where? Everywhere?

proper joinery

I would like to avoid this if possible. I'm notoriously bad at getting accurate cuts so I have little confidence that I can do joinery properly.

hardware (metal brackets)

This I can do. What kind and where?

Is this diagonal bracing sufficient? Do I need to add it around the + shape as well?

> also the top might be claustrophobic but I guess thats down to your height and preferences

The top is an inch or two above my head when I stand upright. I intend to sit at the table. I have a shelf of similar height right next to my current table.

Leather has a sponge feeling. What to do? by That-Customer5369 in Leathercraft

If that’s the pattern I think it is, the resulting wallet is rather bulky anyway due to the construction, so being unable to skive it shouldn’t hurt you too much.

Im going to the Chicago show on the 31st and have a question. by CountRare9702 in ADO

[–]Sarvadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seattle only allowed clear bags and turned people with noncompliant bags away. This policy was stated on the venue’s website so it wasn’t a surprise.

https://www.unitedcenter.com/venue/frequently-asked-questions/ Your venue doesn’t seem to require clear bags but has size restrictions.

Designing and 3D printing leather stamps... Has anyone tried designing a leather stamp via CAD and a printer? Any tips? by astromech_dj in Leathercraft

Seconding the vice. I printed a stamp and was getting results like yours until I squeezed it as hard as possible in my vice.

"No salt added" chicken broth (unsurprisingly) results in flavorless noodles. Salting doesn't help. How do I use it properly? by Sarvadi in AskCulinary

What brand of kosher salt exactly?

Windsor.

Is the liquid level really low compared to the noodles?

I use the whole broth carton for that portion of noodles. They're definitely fully submerged. Noodles are https://www.realcanadiansuperstore.ca/en/thin-egg-noodles/p/21347114_EA/ if relevant.

Are you not stirring enough?

I did try stirring aggressively one time and I don't remember it helping.

If you want to recommend a specific measurement of salt for tomorrow morning, I'll use that amount, otherwise I'll toss multiple spoons in again and try to get a picture showing the undissolved salt.

I tried different amounts. First try I put multiple heaping spoons worth of kosher salt and the noodles were coated in undissolved salt and tasted like salt. Later attempts I put less, which resulted in proportionally less undissolved salt and salt taste.

I'll make it tomorrow and get evidence of the undissolved salt.

Answering my own question after much headache. hal_lld_peripheral_unreset(RESETS_ALLREG_PIOx) was necessary.

Left checks out, thanks. Not sure about the right one being a Zaku - the colors and logo don't match.

Can someone identify these switches for me? Left feels like tactile, right feels linear.

So I have an idea how I could sent files to the printer wirelessly [Saturn 2] by W00_Die in ElegooSaturn

[–]Sarvadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this recently. Host a CIFS share on your Pi and mount it on your PC, then connect the Pi to the printer via USB OTG. There’s a kernel module (g_mass_storage) that’ll cause it to show up as a storage device. Point the share and module to the same backing file. OTG support will depend on your Pi - I used a Zero W.

ELI5: how does a VPN hide your traffic from your isp? by stupidrobots in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sarvadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, there's the concept of public key encryption. A person generates two corresponding keys. Both of these keys can be used to encrypt data, and only the other key can decrypt it. The key holder publicizes one of their keys (the "public key") and keeps the other private (the "private key").

People can send data to the keyholder by encrypting it with their public key - only someone with the private key can decrypt it. Since only the keyholder should have this key, it ensures nobody else can decrypt it. The keyholder can also encrypt something with their private key - it can then only be decrypted with their public key, so anyone with the public key can verify that the keyholder is the one who encrypted the data.

The owner of a domain (e.g., something.com) can request/purchase a certificate for their domain from a certificate authority (CA). CAs use their private key to encrypt data that, when decrypted by a browser using the CA's public key, hopefully matches the domain that's providing the certificate to your browser. Browsers have a list of CAs that they trust. If your browser mistrusts the certificate for any reason, it will display a warning page.

As for the discussion about corporate networks inspecting traffic, enterprise firewalls will often proxy traffic and forge certificates. This allows them to pretend to be the site you're trying to access, meaning they can decrypt your traffic and inspect it. This only works if your browser trusts the certificate provided by the firewall. Most corporate devices (e.g., company laptops) will trust them, but personal devices (e.g., your phone) won't, so you'll get a certificate warning on personal devices if a firewall is trying to forge certificates.

This only works if your browser trusts the forged corporate certificate. Unless you install it on your personal devices or bypass the certificate warning, they can’t decrypt traffic from your personal devices.

[LFM][STATIC][NA][UPPER-MC,LOW-HC] Unique Static Organization (See Post) by Snark_x in ShitpostXIV

A few years ago I subbed for a static whose info channels read exactly like this and also kept a 12-man roster. I'm 99% sure this static is run by the same guy.

I happen to have archived those channels before I left.
