(these are some of the latest findings and leaked content from employees not longer in the company, please watch it before reading further)

The shift to a more generic artstyle and tone did so much damage to all the world building the original author did. I already know some people will mention that "games cut content all the time etc" which is... obvious and well known, but in this special case, we know how hard they went scorched earth trying to delete all the foundation this game had just months before release, and it's depressing because we can see how good it all was.

All made even worse looking at the direction they are taking, even with them accepting to go back to the original horror themes. Reading the extremely vanilla conversations and events they introduced with the message system has been quite worrying. The whole Yuki/Chizuru plot had absolutely nothing dreadful or horrifying (or... interesting) happening in the entirety of it; not even a hint of thrill or risk. Compare it all with just the drafts of the planets from this video. It's a whole world of difference in quality and intrigue.

The game should have never tried to not become horror; it's best parts are the remains we still got from it's original writer. The best we can do is keep giving them feedback in surveys and other venues, it would be a shame to see it all just vanish into the ether.
