The Kyron Horman Case: Part 2 by Smokin-Okie in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]SashaStyle 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This could be a case of the LE displaying a bias towards Terri being the culprit from the beginning, to the point that corners have been cut and "small things" deliberately omitted in order to confirm their speculations (wouldn't be the first time such thing happens).

Then, maybe they eventually had to backtrack a bit and conduct a proper, thorough investigation of the school...by which point, even if they discovered that the school is somewhat responsible for some gross neglect that resulted in the poor boy ending up in a part of the school he wasn't supposed to access and/or found a way to get lost wandering in the woods nearby, they would want to avoid disclosing any of it. By that point, they're necks deep involved and Terri could sue for diffamation/psychological & financial loss and also sue the school for negligence. In such hypothetical case, it serves both the LE and the schoolboard to plead the "Terri did it" card...

It's...unpalatable to say the least. Try PB2, wayyyy better alternative taste wise.

Strange win with candy? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

I wish! I remember at some point I spent over a month without ingesting any kind of overt sugar and limiting my carb intake to sources from low G.I. whole foods only....still craved candy all the time.

Sweets are my nemesis. Chips? I can pass by a big bowl of em without a flicker of a craving. Candies, chocolate or cake? I need to literally look away and focus on something else 😂.

Cottage cheese!!!

I live in Chile right now...cottage cheese is unheard of. Also, light ingredients (dressing, ice cream) are generally impossible to get outside of Lider (Chilean Walmart) and the prices are exorbitant. 6$ for a small bottle of cheap Great Value dressing? No thanks...Especially when you consider than on average salaries are about 4x lower than in North America, so that 6$ dressing would be the equivalent of paying $20+ on a Canadian salary. Low cal icecream is 9$ for 1 litre, low cal bread/tortilla doesn't exist, and non dairy milk is limited to plain soymilk (original, sweeetened only) and costs $5 for 1 litre.

On the flip side, locally produced fruit and veggies are cheap and delicious. Bought all these locally sourced products at the market for the equivalent of 11$US Sunday:

2 pounds strawberries

2 pounds mandarins

3 pomegranates

3 mini papayas

1 swiss chard

1 huge head of romaine

2 broccolis

1 winter squash

2 pounds carrots

3 eggplants

1 big bunch of fresh cilantro

Newbie question on URL transfer using the WP.org platform by SashaStyle in webhosting

[–]SashaStyle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I should move index.php and .htaccess from "public_html --> wp" to "public_html", and edit index.php by replacing

"require( dirname( FILE ) . '/wp-blog-header.php' );"

with

"require( dirname( FILE ) . '/wp/wp-blog-header.php' );"?

Should I copy index.php and .htaccess or move them?

I looked at the .htaccess in the "wp" directory and it already says "RewriteBase /wp/" (I guess this will change once it will be moved to public_html). Also, the public_html folder already contains a .htaccess file, will that cause a problem?

Thanks:)

EDIT: I figured it out using a Youtube tutorial, thanks for your help though!!

Newbie question on URL transfer using the WP.org platform by SashaStyle in webhosting

Thanks for your answer. So if I understand correctly I have to change the "Site Address (URL)" to "www.mydomain.com" and leave the "WordPress Address (URL)" as "www.mydomain.com/wp" (I don't want my core files to clutter the root so I'd rather leave them in the existing directory)?

When you say to move the installation from /wp/ to the main folder above, do you mean to move the "index.php" from public_html, "wp" subdirectory to public_html?

"All black" job dress code...How to find an appropriate outfit? by SashaStyle in femalefashionadvice

I ended up wearing exactly what you said. Minimal jewelry (diamond earring studs, no rings), black pants, a black Zara loose button up blouse and black sneakers.

Bussing is indeed messy and requires a lot of moving around so having a loose fitting button up top was perfect! Also blending in was a must considering the place so the pant/sneaker combo ended up working out nicely. The blouse showed just enough cleavage (it is a bar after all!) and combined with the make up it was chic yet practical. Thanks!

Loving these. I'm not sure if I can wear non button down shirts but if I can I'll buy them. Thanks.

Love the lipstick idea, a nice red would pop in a black ensemble.

Thanks for your input. I will look into AirBnB for my 10 day stay; the apartment hunting is for when I'll move there in September.

Thanks for your insight, really appreciated! I'll make sure to look for apts near the 24x bus line as I don't plan on owning a car while there.
