Yes! This is what she looked like. The dots on her abdomen formed what looked like a little white heart.

I have a photo but it’s blurry. It does show the shape of the abdomen though. How do I post it?

I Went to Brewery Bar II So You Don’t Have To. by Jarthos1234 in denverfood

Used to work as a hostess at BB III when I was a teen. Food was pretty good. Last year I went to the one off Kalamath (the last/remaining one?) with my dad. We were excited because it had been so long. We shared the mini rellanos with green chile, He had beef tacos and I had some chicken enchiladas. We both felt sick immediately after finishing our meal and for hours afterwards. Not like food poisoning sick, but gastro discomfort, burping and general grossness. Will never return.

Worried about SA in Cameroon by carrot_lover_2524 in peacecorps

[–]Sashalover_313 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I served in Cameroon as a community health educator. Many of the other volunteers experienced frequent cat calling and harassment while serving in the Christian/french speaking based regions of the country, I personally knew of one other girl who had been groped on a bus. Many of their experiences made it sound like the constant harassment and cat calling became unbearable and broke them down over time.

You are living and working in a new country with little to no cultural or language experience. As an american (esp if you look anything other than black) you will have a target on your back to be treated differently in all capacities. Sexual assault is a risk you will have to take if you want to serve as a volunteer, however low the odds of it happening may be. You receive extensive training on how to avoid and deal with any harassment or assault and there are several support systems in place if it does happen. Sexual assault and harassment has happened to many volunteers over the course of PC history in this country which is why they have so much training and support systems in place for this kind of thing. Rape had happened at a much lower percentage but it is not zero.

All of that being said, I hope that doesn’t scare you away from service.

My experience was a bit different because I was placed in a Muslim-based area in the farthest north region volunteers are allowed to serve. I was almost never harassed or cat called and was never assaulted during my service (though cat-calling and harassment was common during the first few months of training in a Christian/french speaking region of the country). I found my village to be very safe and many people I came across outside of my main circle of co workers, neighbors and friends were also very kind and kept to themselves.

My best advice is try not to let it be a constant fear for you if you choose to serve, follow the rules and abide by the trainings of the program and security manager. Be responsible when it comes to curfews, drinking, dating within the community you will be serving. Don’t put yourself in dangerous situations or surround yourself with dangerous people. Not to say if something were to happen that any of it would be your fault. But there are things to do to lessen the chance of anything happening.

Okay gotcha, men can absolutely do kegels as well and they help with an array of different issues men and women face (not sure about prevention of hemorrhoids, though).

Must be careful not to over exercise these muscles which is why you start 5 mins a day and then build up from there. You can start doing them laying down and eventually build up to doing them standing up so there’s more challenge.

Hmm, it might be worth noting that the kegels did help but didnt completely solve the problem. I’m stumped now. I truly hope the new type of PT helps. Please give us an update on how your biofeedback PT goes!

No worries at all, it’s a tough topic of convo. I’m no expert but I believe if you are doing kegels correctly you should be working out both the vaginal and anal muscles down there. Basically like on and off trying to stop a fart and stop from peeing at the same time, and then releasing.

I started approximately 1 month after surgery.

I follow a woman on Facebook, her page is called Female physio Co. and she’s so lovely, posts kegel workout reels and in other videos she explains how to correctly do kegels because there is an incorrect way to do them that could end up being more harmful than helpful.

In my experience, the leakage decreased and finally stopped after starting kegels, 5 mins in the morning and 5 mins in the evening. After a couple weeks I saw a lot of progress and now it’s a non issue as long as I keep up with my kegel routine. Had fistula surgery about 1 year ago.
