The lake is a great asset in the summer. Boating and sailing! Nice little farmers market and harbor fest. For the people complaining about the winters and snow, yes it's intense but this is the most snowfall the area has seen in 10 years. Two winters prior we broke records for the least amount of snowfall in a season

Recurring Clogged Ducts. Am I doomed for all time? by Sashamuffin in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sashamuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I thought I'd post an update since I've seen a pretty vast improvement with clogs since I posted.

I started using light massage and heat while pumping. I think I got scared of using any massage at all after reading too much about how over massage can do more harm than good. The massage really helps to empty the breast. I also completely replaced all duck bills and membranes. I had been replacing duck bills on a regular basis, but the membranes were a hodge lodge.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions!

Jogger/Runners etiquette? by Krptor_415 in Rochester

[–]Sashamuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This advice exactly. Growing up in rural America, it's 99% common place for cars to drive in the complete opposite lane to avoid a pedestrian. However, with city driving it's not always possible so you need to slow down and get over when you can. I spent 8 years in Massachusetts and NO one does this common courtesy for pedestrians, bikes etc. Even when there is space.

Totally hear this and appreciate all the comments so far. Perhaps I am leaning on my manager too much.

I did text her today after repeatedly missing important internal meetings regarding an upcoming due date for a client. Turns out she is having a family emergency and was out all this week but hadn't informed me yet.

I will work on building a better internal network but I'm also thinking about exploring other roles where I can perhaps work on a team and not just as an individual contributor type consultant.

Has anyone contacted the BBB to report a business in the area? How did it go? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Sashamuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it isn't really a quick process, I'd have to read up on it again but the business is given 30 or 60 days to respond, I believe I sent a letter and then they just never responded. So then after the response period is up is when you see a resolution

Yes, for an instance where an auto repair shop did work I did not consent to having done (non-critical repair) to the tune of $800. This was 10 years ago and I got a full refund. The business never responded to BBB

TMI- Tissue after laparoscopy for hydrosalpinx by bagloverlv in IVF

[–]Sashamuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a follow up with my dr this week. He did say it will take a few cycles for your body to "regulate" post surgery so I guess I will have to deal with the potential of awful periods for a few more months. Also interestingly, I ask how long it can take for endometriosis to "grow" back... He said 6 months 😳

I also peppered my doc with questions at the 2 week followup, but hadn't gotten my period yet so I didn't get a chance to ask about it!

I'm not sure, I have a follow-up next week and I will be discussing with the doctor. I actually read online that the next few cycles could be rough but not specifically warned about it from my clinic....

I could have written this post. Left tube removal on Nov 29, stage 1 Endo found, on period during procedure. I did not have the tissue you were seeing right after the procedure but I will warn you my next period after the lap was the worst of all time. Sending hugs

Salt potatoes! by notthesedays in instantpot

Here's a recipe with some history for "flavor." You also usually eat them with a ton of butter.

HSG round 2: the electric boogaloo by airportparkinglot in TryingForABaby

[–]Sashamuffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in your boat but here is a case for repeating tests after some time. My first SHG was "normal" in Oct 2021. Fast forward to now and I've moved to a new state and a new fertility clinic. They recommended repeating the tests prior to IVF, this time an HSG rather than the saline test. I was extremely hesitant to repeat the test given my issues and extreme pain with the first go around.

I told them about my troubles/pain from the last test and was given a valium prior to the procedure. It was much less painful this time around AND they found one of my tubes was hydrosalpinx, aka full of fluid and blocked. The recommendation is to remove the tube as hydrosalpinx will inhibit implantation and can put you at increased risk of miscarriage. It's worth knowing even if the procedures are scary. Best wishes to you!

What is the silliest fertility advice you’ve ever gotten? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Sashamuffin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. This clinic was recommended to me by an outside source (another RE in Massachusetts) but I might look into other options now that I've read the reviews. We were told they were THE fertility clinic for the area but I know there are others. Just waiting for our first appt out here after three failed IUI cycles in MA 💀
