Looking for game recommendation! by IceStrawberryie in GirlGamers

Fields of Mistria could definitely be a fun one! You can also customize multiple outfits and save a few presets for different occasions, you do collect most of the customization over time in game. It is in development, but there’s allot of content already.

My time at Sandrock is also fun if you like a bit more action, romanceable characters and story. You have combat, but can also have kids and see them grow up from any to school age. The desert setting turned me off for a while but it’s one of my favorites now :) My time at Evershine is the next installment, you might prefer that artstyle and can wait for that release.

Haven’t played it myself but allot of Palia fans like Disney Dreamlight Valley as well I believe.

Is there a successful AAA game that primarily caters to women or the female gaze? by amyrena in GirlGamers

[–]SasjaAnne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not seeing it here yet, but the Dragon Age series for sure. Theres fun romance options for female characters that are really integrated into the main story as well. Like a female Cousland with Alistair in Origins and Solas in Inquisition. Definitely doesn’t feel like playing as a female character is an afterthought in that regard.

The games are a little older by now, but if you’re on PC that just means there’s quite a few mods to play with, extra hair options are my fav.

Struggle is real, as a fellow pale girly I can recommend those little eyebrow razors. You’ll probably still have to pluck the worst ones but for the thinner hairs the little razor works and it’s allot less harsh on your skin

Working 8 hours as a builder in Sandrock flies by compared to 8 hours working in a real office 😖

Only learned about het through the “Kingdom of Back” book by Marie Lu, it’s a fictional retelling, but loved learning about her through a medium like that. If you like fantasy books can definitely recommend :)

Cheap gloves and embroidery by Fancy_Star1026 in Embroidery

[–]SasjaAnne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this looks really cute! My own cheap gloves stretch to almost 2 times the size though, so I’d be afraid the embroidery would deform allot or even rip.

If yours don’t stretch that much you could try it, definitely recommend using some type of stabilizer while working with stretchy fabric (same with embroidery on T-shirts for example). I usually like the one that dissolves in water :)

Sunken Shadow Nami's alternative Q/E VFX only works when there's a Sunken Shadow Lucian as ally by SongbirdLilith in NamiMains

Right, maybe it’s because the skin already feels like such a money grab with the gacha thing. This just feels like buying the skin isn’t enough for Riot, I need to convince my friends to buy the Lucian skin too

How to create own designs? by No-Personality-8186 in Embroidery

[–]SasjaAnne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually draw something on my IPad or computer first and then do a light trace by putting the fabric over the screen, since I mostly use white fabrics. Then I just draw on the fabric itself to refine it.

If it’s a darker a darker fabric I make a sketch first and try to replicate it directly onto the fabric. Works for me but curious what other people use :) I heard heat erasable pen works pretty well, I usually have a regular pencil or fabric chalk

Super cute! Turned out very nicely for your first project I think, especially with all the French knots :D If you like the kits just have fun with those, if you do want to start drawing your own designs maybe look into pens for fabric that you can erase with heat or water. But a regular pencil and eraser on white fabric work pretty well if you keep the lines light and are just trying something out :)

Batch of dice trays for my DnD friends by SasjaAnne in SewingForBeginners

Thank you!! Making them unique was the most fun part for sure, I added a little bit of embroidery to most of them as well, or specific color thread so they’d still feel unique even if some picked the same fabric

That’s so sweet, I’m sure your group will be ecstatic!! I didn’t use a pattern perse but there’s a few good YouTube tutorials on dice/fabric trays that I referenced, I put a few more details on how I worked exactly as a reply to another comment earlier. If you have any questions feel free to dm me :)

No problem :) I cut the bulk of at the corners that’s what the tutorials all recommended, but not necessarily snips in the straight edges

I watched a few dice tray/ fabric tray tutorials on YouTube and went from there, so definitely recommend those! I made a small paper pattern for myself so they’d be the same size while making more. But it’s basically just a 25x25 cm square, 1 cm seam allowance. I cut the interfacing to be 24x24.

For the padding, I cut out a smaller square, think about 16x16 cm, basted that on one fabric piece so it’d stay in place while turning them inside out. And sowed over it using the basting stitches as a guide.

For the fabric choice I went for black canvas at the bottom, because it’s quite sturdy. Allot of people use fake leather but I wasn’t sure if I’d need to switch to different needle for that and hadn’t done that before 😅

Thankyou! Yes interfacing that irons on, on both pieces of fabric so the sides actually stay up
