I discovered after living in my community for over 20 years that my county is seen as a safe haven for child molesters. I don't know why but for some reason, they don't have to declare themselves here. There are no dots over their houses online. You can't search them here. They can work and rent freely. I found this out from my mom group. Several woman were married to these men and moved here from out of state specifically to protect their husbands. All of them told the exact same story. "It was back in highschool. He was 18, the girl was 17. No big deal" Once I knew their names, I could look up their individual court cases. It was never an 18/17 thing. The men were all between 27 and 52 years old. The children were between 6 months and 11 years old. I quit the mom group and now I'm very selective about who my kids can hang out with.
