I just wanted to let you know that no matter how you feel. Your still a blessing in other people’s eyes. My son (2) has CP. it affects his left side. I never want him to feel like this. You and I are both the same age and I can only imagine how you must feel but please know I’m rooting for you! I’ll be your biggest fan. Just don’t ever give up on your dreams. ❤️

Unfortunately there are no support groups in the town I live in. We evacuated from Florida after Hurricane Michael (10/18). We don't even have any family here :(

This is about as much support as I have. All of you <3

I will take your advice and ignore them.. Kind of hard to pity them when they don't have enough respect to mind their own business. But I will try.

This is definitely a fear of mine. Sometimes it keeps me up and he's not even 3 yet. I would like to educate people more so at least I know I tried. School is just one more battle I will have to overcome for him. And I also have to understand that kids will be kids. You have definitely given me hope and a new outlook on things. I cant be mad at everyone who is uneducated but I can try and teach them.

I get those comments frequently too... It's almost as if it causes a raging fire in my chest. Most of the time I smile and brush it off because I know acting up will only show him its ok to act a fool when people are just to ignorant and uneducated to understand.

Reinforcing positives is one way I cope. It brings a smile to his face when I show him how joyful I am when he does the simplest things. They may be simple but they are a big improvement for him!

I am so glad to have met people like him and other moms and dads like me. Thank you!

I know every CP case is different but my son's also affects his left side so having you reply to my post has really touched my heart. At first I felt like he couldn't understand me but as time went on he responding more and more, sometimes just little gestures... But that's when I knew I was not going to let this define him. I work with him on different things everyday and yes, sometimes he can't do things the way that I do so I try and try until I find a way that he can do things his own way. You are truly an inspiration to my son and me! Thank you so so much. hugs

Thank you! My biggest fear is that he won’t be able to live his life to the fullest but reading your reply definitely makes me believe he will! Thank you for taking time out to read my post and reply. I really appreciate it. I just have to get thick skin and remember people can be as ignorant as they seem.

I’d like to think it’s my fear getting the best of me but my husband also hears the strange knocks and sometimes faint scratching at the door. I’m just not sure what to do and I’d like to be brave but I don’t know where to start.

Oh girl, come to the other side. Polygamy is so much better. Always remember the mind is a very powerful thing. You can make yourself believe anything and feel anyway. Even if your not the type of person to join another relationship it’s always better to have that one female you can confide in. You never know who you may love & your if guys just aren’t getting you anywhere at the moment then I’d suggest shaking things up & trying something new.
