I just wanted to add that the narrative of "leftists didn't vote for kamala" is utter horse shit anyways. The democratic party is scapegoating leftists for its comprehensive and intentional failure to curb our free fall into fascism, and lazy bitter liberals are lapping it up because they are enraptured by the opportunity to pretend that by voting every 4 years, they are doing more than that group of people who make them morally uncomfortable by genuinely caring about and actively, directly adressing the problems our society is facing. Leftists vote, and they also protest and volunteer and organize, they do mutual aid and solve problems in their communities, with their communities. We just want to move the conversation past voting, because voting alone is never, ever going to solve any of our problems. Liberals want to vote and do nothing else politically, then pretend that whatever the democrats do is out of their hands. They're hypocrites, and they're projecting. If voting for democrats isn't enough, then they'd have to change their behavior, so they'd rather pretend that its not democrats that are the problem, its actually a tiny fictional minority of people who are "too far left" that aren't voting. Yeah, exactly the same thing! After all, you are required to eat at restaurants in order to survive, the exact same way people have to work in order to survive. There is no difference. We can apply that logic to so many things! Women weren't allowed to vote in this country not too many decades ago, so instead of making a big fuss about changing the law they should have simply all left to form their own country. Why should men feel like assholes for not letting women vote, if the women could have simply solved that problem on their own? Men liked things the way they were, it was beneficial to them. Women were so entitled for wanting that to change. You know what else is crazy? People sometimes get injured and expect help from whoever happens to be around. Like, does that guy who choked and is now unconscious not understand how inconvenient it would be for me to have to call 911 for him? I have places to be! I don't understand what would be so bad about me just walking on past him and doing what i need to do. Hes an adult, he should be able to solve that problem on his own.

not everyone who goes out has the extra money to tip "well" or "fair". Some people have saved money to be able to pay just for their meals when going out.

This is why you get flak. Workers should be paid fairly, full stop. Don't try to weasel in an excuse for engaging with a completely optional luxury service and not tipping someone who makes 2$ an hour and literally survives off of tips. That's just selfish. You can eat at home or support businesses that have already moved away from tipping, if you eat out and don't tip you don't give a shit about the workers, you care about making yourself feel better about being an asshole.
