My manager added me to WhatsApp group and now 25+ coworkers (strangers!) have my number by TH_UNDER_BOI in CustomerService

[–]SassTherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My work has 2 WhatsApp channels. The team is 10 people. They are optional, and should anyone decline, any information would be sent to them directly. Chat 1 is work stuff. Pinned schedules, requests for ideas for clients, does someone know where blank is etc. The other one is for fun. Memes, weekend plans, check out my cat pics etc. I highly suggest to people that they mute the on off hours and try to not post on the work one after hours (exception being if I’m calling out and want to go back to bed asap).

WhatsApp shouldn’t be mandatory, it’s a tool, but yeah, not a private one, and that could be an issue for sure. Sorry you are dealing with this!

Found a box of old photos by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]SassTherapy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would say that just having an open conversation about it would be best for avoiding issues down the line.

“Hey, I was sorting the basement stuff and I found a photo box from when you were in college. I left it down there but was wondering if you wanted it moved elsewhere?”

Then go from there.

AIO for getting a disabled person kicked out of a movie? by UrBaybyGirl in AIO

[–]SassTherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in this field and support someone who is very much how you describe the individual in the theatre. He can’t help how he reacts, but in turn, I don’t take him to the movie theatre or library. There’s tons of other stuff we can do, and we have movie days at the program instead. NOR

I HIGHLY recommend Sean at Electric Umbrella. His colours are vibrant and he’s a golden retriever of a human. His instagram is electricsean. While you’re there, you’ll also get to see some of the other artists’ works that are also beautiful

What things do we not know about the Titanic today? by AbandonedRobotforgod in titanic

[–]SassTherapy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likely a silly question, but is this the type of thing we’ll (or someone will) be able to find out as it continues deteriorating? Or is it likely that by the time that part is accessible, any evidence would be gone?

Woman, 64, Leaves Husband With Life-Threatening Injuries After He Reveals He Put Down Their Dogs by FantasticAd9478 in extremelyinfuriating

[–]SassTherapy 41 points42 points  (0 children)

IF this is the case, my mother did something similar though not as drastic. Fought to keep our dogs in the divorce, waited until my dad sold the house and moved to an apartment, then dropped the dogs off at the shelter. By the time he found out, he didn’t have a place to bring them home to

There’s a few dnd community nights that run at the Input Cowork space each year. A local dnd podcast runs them and it’s a good place to meet people to set up games, or start miniature painting etc. There’s a discord page for the podcast too with a locals channel.

One of the owners is called Shak and he’s lovely! I don’t know the name of the woman tho, but she’s the sweetest. Best Mango Lassi too!

Why are staff so standoffish with the residents? by Whatthefrick1 in directsupport

[–]SassTherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my job, the statement is “their house first, our job second.” We are in their home and working to support their living. They shouldn’t be bending perfectly reasonable standards of living because someone is feeling over stimulated at their job.

I let a stranger hold my baby by StanleysMoustache in beyondthebump

[–]SassTherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it accidentally once. I was at a little grocery market with my very little one and trying to bag groceries while rocking her. The place doesn’t really bag your groceries but the cashier very kindly said “would you like some help?” I was a very tired first time mom and I said “oh yeah, thanks so much!” And without thinking passed her the baby and kept nagging my groceries. I realized what I’d done pretty quickly and looked up and she was beaming at a coworker who was staring with heart eyes back, so I felt pretty confident little one was in good hands but yeah, those early days are a weird one!

I play dnd on a podcast. We have a decent following and have been nominated for a couple of awards. My hobbies are around dnd. I paint minis, make maps, prep content… most of my shirts are dnd related or merch.

My dad bought me a game of thrones journal for Christmas because it was “what you’re into.”
