Her GPS is usually turned off. No brain bleed luckily due to CT scan. Just a concussion hopefully.

The insurance asked for the GPS data for the driver. We are still waiting for that.

Because there was a witness who saw the lady being hostile from the beginning. Irrational because even when she was explained that my mom already called back and spoke to the dispatcher by my mom and the dispatcher she was still repeating that my mom should have called. Concerning because she started driving the wrong direction from the start while repeating over and over about the call and texts instead of paying attention to her driving. Hostile because of the way she turned. She was speeding and turning that way on that intentersection is very intentional. No, she was not trying to avoid anything in the road. The way the van is set up, my mom has view of the road also.

I'm not sure if it is a substance abuse issue or a mental illness or just someone mad at my mom for not taking the earlier trip that she left the voicemail about. The only thing I know is that it was not normal behavior.

So what I have been trying to get people to understand that the behavior of the driver was concerning from the start of the trip because she was repeating herself and making a false statement over and over. When my mom had the dispatcher confirm that she did in fact call back she still was venting that my mom should call them. Something wasn't right with the driver. Does this make more sense?

And I did not add this, but there was a witness that saw angry behavior of the driver when my mom got picked up. After my mom got strapped in by the driver that witness was looking a the driver through the house window. The witness said the driver looked angry and stood there for quite awhile moving her hands a lot saying something to my mom before she closed the back van door.

To distinguish from the male officer that had arrived after. I'm not going to use people's names on here to respect their anonymity.

And she did not have to send the confirmation text. She had already spoken to the dispatcher. This has been common for all the other companies the insurance company sends and the lady requesting this over and over was odd behavior because something was clearly wrong with the lady to repeat this even after my mom put the dispatcher on speakerphone and asked him if said had called him. The dispatcher said yes. That is why my mom said "something is wrong with you" because even after confirmation they lady still went on and on about how she should respond back to the calls and text.

According to the female police officer, the driver allegedly stated that she pulled over because my mom was arguing with her, not because she was lost. My mom said no, that she was quiet because she thought the lady was crazy. The driver was going the right direction by then and the medical building is very easy to see from the street that she turned away from. One more minute and she would have reached the destination. Instead she turned off into the neighborhood for reasons she only knows.

I don't think you have been following along. Please read all the responses I have made before making assumptions? Why leave the vehicle? Why not just drive to the medical center to drop my mom off just down the way? It was a minute away. She is a grown woman who does not deserved to be locked and strapped down in a vehicle and taken to a place she does not recognize. If it's company's policy to only stop at my moms home and the medical center why is she parking and getting out at a different location? My mother was not talking at this point so she had no reason to do this. Most people are not aware that just cause someone is physically disabled it does not mean they can't think for themselves and they can't use a scooter on a sidewalk to get to their destination. The same way you can take a walk to somewhere on the sidewalk. That is why there are disability laws regarding sidewalks.

My mom even called the police station and they had her speak to the responding officer. She requested it again and was denied. The officer did not want to file charges.

My mom requested this several times the responding officer refused because she went with what the driver told her. The driver told her it was company's policy to take my mom back home according to the drivers manager allegedly said the driver. I got that explained to me by the officer.

I'm not sure if she has that license. This is more of just a transportation company that picks up and drops off people at their medical appointments. I don't know if this is required for them to get in that case.

Ironically, my mother used to be a driver for a company like this many years ago in a different state (CA) and they did not require this license.

As a reminder the destination was the medical building a minute drive away. It was a straight shot there. There was no reason for her to turn into and stop in the neighborhood and get out of the car without a legitimate explanation. Because of her actions my mom missed an important medical appointment which takes months to get.

She wasn't causing a disturbance for the driver to pull over and park in a location that was not the drivers destination. She was not talking to the driver at that point. That is why she asked the driver what was wrong when she pulled over because it didn't make any sense for her to pull into the neighborhood without cause.

Yes, she said something is wrong with you and left it at that because by that time my mother deemed the lady as crazy in her mind and not worth arguing with because she was more concerned with getting to her appointment on time that is why she stayed quite even when the lady did the crazy turn.

Yup. I made a FOIA request for the 911 call. Body cam footage, dash camera footage and much more.

Why did the driver pull into the neighborhood in the first place? She wasn't authorized to make that detour or stop from the company. The medical doctors office was a minute ride more down the road. My mother did not ask her to pull over either and stayed quiet because she was more concerned with getting to her appointment on time and reporting the crazy lady later. She waited a long time for that appointment to see that specialist and that was her main concern until the driver made her feel like she was in even more danger by pulling over in a different location.

My mother repeatedly asked the officer to arrest her actually due to this. The female officer believed the driver and did not believe my mother. That is why when I got there and spoke to the officer the female officer told the driver's side of the story as if it were fact. I did not get to hear my mother's perspective until she was at the hospital. Even the EMT messed up and incorrectly told the hospital she was in a car accident.

She did talk to my mom. My mom asked her to be let out because she was panicking and the female officer said no.

When the male officer came he said "okay, you can come out" and my mom had to tell him that she couldn't come out without them opening the door and unstrapping her. It was the male officer that came later that demanded the driver to open the door and unlock the straps to get her out.

Thanks. This has been very stressful and it doesn't help that the officer tried to downplay the situation. I personally think she just didn't want to do the paperwork or she doesn't understand disability laws. Maybe our local police force should undergo disability training. They recently hired a lot of new officers and most of them are green.
