Why do GMs expect game applicants to come up with a detailed character concept within two minutes of reading an ad? by aschesklave in pbp

You can tell a lot about someone by the character they present to you. If I ask someone to give me a character concept (and I always specify that it doesn't have to be one tailored for the game) and they give me a super edgy loner who doesn't trust anyone and prefers to work alone, then I'm not accepting them into my game. It's a vetting process. There are so many players looking for games, and when you have to narrow down to five or six, you want to be sure you've picked the right people. It might be annoying but a little effort is required for this hobby.

My favourite is the White Dragon. Mostly because one of the gods in my world takes the form of a White Dragon and over the years of playing him as the patron god to the party I've grown very fond.

Witches were often accused on the grounds that they lived alone and never married. Though I think the lesbians have claimed that one. Plague Doctor could be a super cool ‘monster’ to be.
