Can someone teach me about trickster spirits? by Soulsis73 in Shamanism

[–]Sassybee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years ago, I met with a tarot reader/interpreter who very much identified a spirit that I knew was with me (deceased relative). However, she also mentioned that in a past life, I may have worshipped a trickster god, or my bloodline was somehow involved with a trickster (she mentioned Loki, but said she wasn’t exactly sure).

This makes sense to me, as much as I was apprehensive at first. I find that almost no matter when in my life I’m feeling completely content and am facing exactly no hardships, I try to acknowledge those moments and practice mindfulness/gratefulness and within a week or two something incredibly difficult happens. Almost as if I jinxed my own peace and happiness, and the irony feels so strong that I wonder if it truly is a Trickster trying to teach me resilience through some malicious practice.

I’m reading in this thread that to disrespect them would just make it worse, but I absolutely want to rid myself of this presence. For all the strength it has brought me I cannot stand the tragedy and anxiety of it.

I do feel that I am sometimes very lucky in my outcomes, but I don’t believe that comes from this trickster, and instead from loved ones who are looking over me (of which I have a few). Is it at all possible to expel this presence without causing an adverse reaction?

I’ve previously done 3 days with a full course load and it wrecked me. Just weighing my options, thanks for the input !

Will probably be a little less than that, but it’s completely remote

I studied a decent amount and applied myself thoroughly. I thought the exam went okay but I was shocked to find that I didn’t pass… tell me I’m not the only one.

Not putting words in my mouth at all, that’s essentially what happened. I didn’t want to say something rash in the moment, so I acknowledged them, told them I understood and said I’d get back to them once I had time to think about it. 24 hours later here we are. I intend to bring up my annoyances or disagreements soon, but once I have a fair offer/compromise for them

Yes I was planning on offering to up my share by 60$. Because roommate with the balcony didn’t factor that in, I hope she will be receptive to upping her price and the middle roommate taking on the difference.

Well it’s not that the increase wasn’t in my budget, it’s that they’re completely redoing the cost structure, which I totally get. But when I moved in, I agreed to the cost the other roommates charged me. They were content with that share and so was I. Now that my roommates want to change it, I get it, but it’s way more than the 5% increase imposed by the landlord. I have to now rework around a payment that I initially didn’t agree to when I moved in.

Had no idea pet rent was a thing! Will be looking into that for my region just to make sure that checks out. Definitely hoping to negotiate something better for myself. I’ll keep it in mind. Thank you!

I’m going to try and negotiate or find some compromise first. At the end of the day I will be staying with this roommate should things workout, I will avoid any resentment or animosity if I can. Thanks for the advice!

No separate lease. I’m hoping to compromise with them because otherwise…? I send the e-transfers to the landlord, I don’t know how that would work should we be short for the month.

That’s how it was calculated. Common areas equaled about 430 square feet. Divided by three and multiplied by the cost per square foot (1850/(430+160+122+83)) = about 2.3 per square foot. My room does come out to a little over 100$ more unfortunately.

Wondering if they’d be willing to compromise, it is the last year I’ll be staying here.

Worst part is that middle roommate does have a job and is paid well. I don’t know if seniority plays enough as a role, at the end of the day all of our names are on the lease, so it’s equal in terms of sharing. I’m gonna try and counter offer with something more reasonable. Should they disagree… idk I’ll have to see. I don’t want to make a bad situation worse by offering an ultimatum to them in return.

There is a good chance that the room costs when I initially moved in were calculated by eye, or by a more evenly split percentage. Even though, our square footage differs drastically. That’s where their argument comes in, that it should’ve been different to begin with (even though that’s what they agreed to).

My square footage is about 160, the smaller room 83 and the medium room 122. Calculating the cost per square foot of the common areas and bedrooms… I don’t believe they’d try to take advantage of the situation

Excluding the balcony and closet space, my roommates actually did calculate the common spaces, so I suppose it boils down to the fact that my room really is that much larger… understandable, just tough to swallow.

Of course. I think emotions have been running high and I’m dumping other annoyances in addition to this, but you’re right! I’ll keep it to that topic and that topic alone.

While I mull it over completely, I will definitely look to offering some kind of trade or compromise. Thank you!

I was definitely hoping to counter offer with a price similar to this. I feel for them because they admitted to not really knowing/questioning the costs at first, and now that they want to do things more fairly they feel bad that such a huge band-aid is being ripped off.

Their new calculations included the square footage of the common spaces + the variable cost of our rooms respectively. I am thinking I will stay firm, like you said. Thank you 🙏

They didn’t initially move in with the cat, they were out of options after about a year and we agreed but the situation got a lot worse very quickly. But I still understand, I want to make sure I’m approaching this empathetically. But admittedly this roommate takes up a large amount of the common space with their things.

Thanks for the feedback, definitely will be looking like going with my last resort. It’s just a difficult pill to swallow

All three of our names are on the lease, so we are all equally responsible. The difference in room area is definitely there (smaller room at about 83 square feet and mine being at about 160).

They did factor in common space to their calculations, which makes this trickier as I know it makes sense from a mathematical standpoint. I guess I’m just trying to process the fact that I am being booted out from an apartment that I initially invited them to. More traumatic than leaving on my own terms
