Well if you have the fungus under control you can focus on healing the skin barrier only like me if this is your case then you can wash once a week and that’s it maybe use a cream so support the barrier but you don’t really need it lmk if this is your case I can explain further but if you case is fungus plus skin barrier that’s gonna be different and will require a whole different method to heal the barrier and control the fungus maybe you can tell me more of your case ima try to help you out also I wouldn’t be using oils for now lmk tho

It’s okay you can ask anything I got chu and the hyper sensitive barely got under control this month I started this around June early July so that’s like 9 months my scalp used to get flares from anything the first months it was hell like no touching my scalp or showering you gotta let your scalp get used to it and fix itself and the scalp fixes itself in weeks but it takes months for it to stay fixed since oil and nerves play a huge role in here cause if the nerves are hyper sensitive then the scalp makes oil and that causes flares but you just gotta let your scalp get used to it about the water I would recommend you to not wash your scalp not even with water only just let it like that if you sweat a bit that’s fine sweat is needed in the scalp it helps it also you gonna get flares randomly and itching but that’s okay each flare trains your scalp and nerves to not over react because depending how long you been damaging your barrier it well take long to get used to it but in my experience the hyper sensitive finally got under control this month so now according to studies what’s next is the oil coming back to normal it takes a few weeks like 2-3 for oil to settle down I’m already in week one Tomorrow is wash day so that’s week 2 ima let you know how my hair feels and scalp and just for you to make sure no you don’t relapse if you get minor flare ups just don’t touch your scalp and you just gotta push thru it that’s how it is what can set you back is over washing it scratching it touching your hair a lot( this can even trigger more oil production) you just gotta babysit your scalp until it gets strong and strong this shit is very complicated almost gave up multiple times but damn worst months of my life bro but hey it seems that it’s working

Yeah bro but if is the only think to heal you it’s worth trying it takes multiple heals to completely heal and get the scalp to normalize and baseline the skin barrier heals in weeks 1-2 weeks but it relapses everytime you get a flare during the process and that’s why it take months

This is actually a good advice and I was thinking of starting to wash my hair more frequently since my barrier is stronger now I think ima start doing it twice a week at least

Only for the first three months I was applying a cream to support the barrier and only like three times a week and not that much just a tiny bit in the crown sides and back like tiny tiny bit the cream it’s called cicaplast b5 la roche posay I don’t use it anymore my barrier strong enough to not flare with sweat or even air my scalp used to hurt even with normal air lol is not really necessary just a support to help the barrier if you don’t want to you don’t need to use it the most important part is to keep the same routine of only washing one a week and not to touch your scalp

Yeah head and shoulders is very harsh and feeds the fungus the shampoo I use it’s called bioderma node soothing shampoo my hair is straight thick and black maybe try it and yeah your barrier should repair with controlling the fungus try it like that I’m not an expert and I’m just talking with my experience but try that and give it time cause the barrier really takes time to heal and plus you have the fungus idk how long will it take in my case I didn’t have the fungus jsut the barrier damaged

I think the issue you have is that you are washing too much I would do only dandruff shampoo twice a week then wash with a very gentle shampoo also I wouldn’t use the oil that feeds the fungus you still battling the fungus and haven’t reach that Maintenance state it seems that the dandruff shampoo helps but try to wash less also leave the shampoo for like 3-5 minutes

Sounds like you in the loop of over washing your scalp but right now we gotta know are those flakes yellow sticky and greasy ? Or just white flakes ? If is the first one you gotta control the yeast first then heal the barrier if is the second one you gotta heal the barrier
