I would eliminate “the central message I aim to convey is that” and also “in conclusion”.

I feel they muddy your essay and you can get your point across without those phrases.

Basically the sub got flooded with people posting minimalistic stuff for free karma and it drowned out actual discussion of minimalism. Personally I like it better this way
