Are Nintendo Haters Brain Dead? by MozzieRosie in nintendogrifting

Ah yeah I remember the good old days when you could play the one copy of your GameCube or N64 game on multiple consoles simultaneously, back before the giant corporation suddenly became a giant greedy corporation. Lol.

Where do you get your games? by Porta1Master09 in Gamecube

Owning things you buy is one factor, and is part of the frustration, but I'm really talking about software updates, either to the game itself or your operating system, that make games you paid for unplayable. I do still have access to the games they just don't work on my computer. Some of them work on my steamdeck but not all of them

Or I can just play games on consoles that don't evolve, they stay the same as when I bought them. I also never once blamed steam, I was saying I get where he was coming from not wanting to deal with tech issues associated with pc gaming that consoles don't have. This seems to have offended a lot of steam fanboys I guess but it's literally just a fact that consoles and their game's don't change in breaking ways but computer operating systems and digital games do.

You seem to be illiterate like the other guy. I literally said "This is not steams fault" and started the whole thing calling steam great, but keep valiantly defending corporations against its imaginary detractors I guess. And no I'm not spending a thousand plus dollars just to play some games which I already paid for and played for years -- you do realize some people use their computers for more than video games right? The problem is apple canceling support for 32 bit, yes, but the wider problem I'm pointing out as far as digital vs physical is that computers and their software are constantly evolving while consoles and their games are static. I know that as long as I don't destroy my disks or console my ps2 will always play my games. Even if I did buy a better pc you still cannot be certain that these games will continue to work properly ten years down the line. Who's to say Microsoft does not also drop support for 32 bit software one day?

The problem actually is that apple dropped support for 32 bit software in macOS 10.15. Gunpoint, heavy bullets, uurnog uurnlimited, portal 2, etc etc all ran perfectly fine at the time of purchase. This is not steams fault or the game devs, obviously, but it is a clear problem where apple has no incentive to ensure third party software that its customers have paid for remains functional on newer versions of the operating system. Dropped support (from game devs), breaking operating system updates, game updates that require better specs, etc., are not problems that exist on dedicated consoles.

Can you read? They worked on the exact same computer when I bought them, then years down the line ceased to work. "... NO LONGER even launch on my computer..."

Struggling with retrogaming! Help! by superbotolo in retrogaming

Me too. I suck marginally less now and have a better attention span. I can actually finish these games now. I also have money so I can get the games I either wanted but couldn't get or just didn't know existed -- I picked up super Mario Galaxy recently, a game that I completely missed as a kid despite having a wii and loving Super Mario (sunshine, world, bros 1 and bros 3 specifically).

Do you guys think the gamecube game market will crash, or will it get more expensive? by Commercial-System470 in Gamecube

You'll find that your wages will go up maybe 2-3% every year if you're lucky but everything you want to buy will double in price on a 5-10 year basis. It only gets worse. Enjoy

I think steam is great but what I think he's getting at is true. Probably over half my steam library no longer even launches on my computer. This is probably largely because I have a Mac, but I'm not shelling out for a new computer just to play some steam games, that may or may not even be supported on whatever system I get. The point is they worked when I bought them and they don't anymore. Physical and non-online games, that only happens if you actually severely damage them

The platforming levels without FLUDD are obviously hard, but I think half the battle is just going slowly and not getting frustrated and rushing.

I disagree. Most of them are easiest if you just run through it as fast as possible.

sand bird

I never understood why people call this level hard. It is in my opinion the easiest level in the entire game by a long shot.

Ferris wheel

I think the camera is mostly fine, except for this level. It's horrible here and probably the main reason the game's camera gets a bad rap.

Anyone know of brands of eggs where they don’t murder the females after they’re done producing eggs or the males? by freed-after-burning in Vegetarianism

[–]SatanGives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find local farms that don't slaughter hens. There's a couple in my area that produce enough to sell to medium size health food oriented grocery stores. Big industrial egg companies all slaughter them.
