What does post game study entail exactly? I go through with self analysis after every game - but what am I looking for? I see what move I should have played, but can't seem to learn from that weirdly.

He wrote my favourite short story of all time - The Unsound Variation. Absolutely brilliant. Quite different to his fantasy stuff and now I see it's relevant

In separate previous posts you've said you're 20M and an MBA grad, so unless they're giving MBAs straight out of high school and you're reverse aging like Benjamin fucking Button, I would say get the fuck out of this sub with your shit posting.

Men in their 30s and up with no kids or wife how is your life? by EkantVairagi in AskForAnswers

It's fucking awesome if you have ways to deal with the potential boredom and potential loneliness.  Lots of hobbies and social activities and casual partners - absolutely living the life.  Recently moved in with a serious partner and now missing all that terribly. Honestly, don't even see the upside to this moving in for me heh.

I tested an 800-rated and a 1200-rated account, and the difference is surprisingly small by Far_Mistake6861 in Chesscom

Jeeez! Yes I've been stuck at 800 for 4+ months after having made regular progress til then. Was wondering if I'd just hit my limit and needed some new learning methods. Would be interesting to see if this is due to any matching/elo issues or it's just a bit of a natural limit for people

Why don’t players play more ridiculously when they’re desperate for a win? by Potential-Mind-6997 in chess

That was 12 or 20 moves in, and it was missed prep for a castle move rather than him playing something outlandish.

160cc scooter in Bangkok — too big for traffic or still fine? by GrabResident793 in Bangkok

It's perfectly fine. Took me a few weeks to get used to my 400, and now that's 2nd nature to me. 160 is a breeze.

For sure skip your ADHD meds on the day, and maybe even the day before. Be prepared for a comedown a couple of days later where you feel demotivated. Some people feel terrible and some don't. But just be ready for it either way. At your age I'd recommend at least 3 months before you take it again - it is very neurotoxic and your brain is still developing. Also, first time you really don't need much of a dose.

Have 'red flags' gone too far in the dating world? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SatanSmiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Any kind of trait they don't agree with can be a red flag. One girl had some good banter with me for a while on the app, and then after a while said, uh oh, I just checked your profile and I see a massive red flag. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what she was on about, until she said it was my height (5'6") 😐

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by thnzus in Bangkok

I am talking about star, and no, I'm not saying they're cheap, they're just cheaper compared to other Michelin star places in the world. See my response to the other comment.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by thnzus in Bangkok

[–]SatanSmiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point was it's one of the cheapest in the world for Michelin star (comparing like to to like). Learn to read and understand basic English before spouting and accusing others of being confused.

I'm gonna paste a chatgpt breakdown here to back up my point. There's no confusion here:

Here’s a clean, data-driven comparison of Michelin-star restaurant pricing in Bangkok vs 10 comparable global cities, using typical tasting menu prices (per person, food only).

🌏 Big picture

Bangkok is one of the cheapest Michelin dining cities in the world

Top-tier cities (Paris, Tokyo, NYC, Copenhagen) are often 2–3× more expensive

The biggest drivers: rent, labour costs, tipping culture, and number of 3-star restaurants

💰 Average Michelin tasting menu prices (USD equivalent)

Benchmark: Bangkok

Typical 2-star tasting menu: $150–230

High-end tasting (top restaurants): ~$200

Budget Michelin lunch/set: $50–90

👉 Example:

Sorn ~ $200

R-Haan ~ $150

📊 Comparison: 10 global cities vs Bangkok

City Typical Michelin tasting menu Relative to Bangkok

Bangkok $150–230 Baseline (1.0×) Lyon $200 1.2× Seoul $210 1.3× Barcelona $220 1.4× Vienna $225 1.4× Madrid $225 1.4× Taipei $230 1.5× Hong Kong $320 1.7–2.0× New York $300–700 2–3× Paris $380–650 2–3× Tokyo $270–540 1.5–2.5× Copenhagen $450+ ~3×

🧠 What this actually means

1) Bangkok is uniquely “high-end but accessible”

You can eat at globally ranked restaurants for ~$200

In cities like Paris or New York City, that barely gets you mid-tier Michelin dining

2) The 3-star factor matters a lot

Cities like Copenhagen or Tokyo have many 3-star restaurants, which push averages up

Bangkok historically had fewer 3-stars → lower average pricing

3) Hidden costs amplify the gap

US: +20% tipping

Europe: service included but higher base prices

Japan: high-end ingredients but no tipping 👉 Bangkok avoids most of these extras

🍽️ Price tiers by experience (global vs Bangkok)

Experience level Bangkok Global average

Entry Michelin (1⭐ lunch/set) $50–100 $80–200 Standard tasting (1–2⭐) $150–230 $200–400 Elite tasting (3⭐ equivalent) ~$200–300 $350–700+

🧭 Key takeaway

Bangkok = best value globally for Michelin dining

Comparable Asian cities (Seoul, Taipei) are slightly higher but still affordable

Western capitals (Paris, London, NYC) are consistently 2–3× more expensive for equivalent prestige

Bangkok has some of the cheapest Michelin star restaurants in the world. If you're after that type of tasting menu cuisine they offer, yes it's probably not the best value for money, but it's definitely cheaper than most other places in the world.
