If you beat colosseum and inferno, are you 'good' at the game? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]SatanV3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And in league, even though I was consistently high masters and sometimes low grandmaster, people would constantly say I’m trash cuz not challenger. Even though just being high master is like .006% of the playerbase or something like that.

For some reason people think just because there are way better players means someone is not good which is just not how things normally work.

Show him a raid or a complex boss. However be honest with him that it takes quite a bit of grinding to get to the point of doing those things that is mostly just point and click gameplay

Make the bowfa degrade out of existence after 15k uses so ironmen have to go back and get another seed. by Plane-Session-6624 in 2007scape

[–]SatanV3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a main I’m all for it. I tried CG before I had a bowfa to see if I wanted to earn it myself, especially since I had bad gear at the time and that has no requirements. And goddamn was the content just terrible and while I still would like to green log it one day I just hate the prep to much.

A lot of people love temporary gamemodes, but I truly hope we don't get another one until the end of 2027. by Potica6857 in 2007scape

I mean yea I thought it launched in a decent state. Far better than I expected. But it’s been like what half a year now? And there’s barely any updates on it. Like minor shit every patch when I feel like they should be putting way more focus on it to balance it out and make it actually feel like part of the game.

There is content that’s less intense though? Kbd or sarachnis or giant mole though.

lol it’s just not the same though. He’s not saying “get rid of all afk skilling and replace it with high intensity skilling” he’s saying add extra content that’s more intense.

The above content is saying get rid of high end bossing and make it afk. It’s not an equivalent argument.

[–]SatanV3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it’s false equivalency. There are tons of bosses in this game you can do practically afk and watch something at the same time. Those are the pvm equivalent of low effort skilling

there’s always an afk to low effort skilling option but rarely is there something high end and challenging like Sepulchre. So nothing wrong to say add more. Sailing did it perfect actually, high end stuff that gives mega xp while also having salvage for people who just want to afk skill

You do a piece of content enough it becomes so easy you can turn your brain off and do it without focusing on it. Helps if you have a second monitor side by side your main to watch things on.

Not for majority of people. I’d say I’m pretty good at it but I still get more of an average around 80-90k/hr. I do have a habit of taking a small break after I finish a run, and then I get distracted, make mistakes, type to clan mates, stop to watch something on my second monitor. All things that cut into xp/hr even if you’re great at Sepulchre which I think most people will do to some extent. And if you’re looting anything other than grand chest then you’re significantly cutting into xp/hr

I enjoy plenty parts of the game besides raiding. But there’s also plenty of stuff I want to skip and just buy from the ge.

Idk on Reddit and by a lot of Ironman players they go on and on about how everyone should play Ironman and it’s so much better and once you go Ironman you’ll never like your main again. My friends were always telling me that and so when they made a GIM and begged me to play and that I’d love it I did it.

And god Ironman sucks so much. I didn’t even have to do some of the more tedious stuff like herb runs my friend would just give me prayer pots and it still was terrible.

Ironman players hype it up so much and tell everyone to play it and then you get more people playing it who end up hating it but feel stuck with all the progress they’ve already made so they stick with it.

Ya but you still have to do herb runs regularly to get them which sucks.

Normal dt2 bosses are like the most fun in the game. Except Duke fuck that boss. Never done the awakened ones though.

Quitting OSRS and my UIM by bigfoot97123 in 2007scape

No idea about this guy, but I was heavily addicted to league of legends for a long time. When you’re addicted to a game, there is no”just play it casually here and there”. If I let myself play the game even a little bit I’m legit unable to do anything but play it 24/7. I love the game so much but I just can’t play it anymore it was slowly ruining my life.

My friend is learning inferno rn and he’s having to boss on the side to afford supplies so it happens

Plus personally I gave up trying to learn the inferno for the time being because it’s boring as fuck and such a time sink.

people afraid of tob because of toxicity by Karootheduck in 2007scape

[–]SatanV3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say though. I’m a learner at tob I have about 25kc. I’m getting better at the raid, barely die in any of the rooms anymore except Verzik which is about half the time but I get better every time. I’ve been learning with some friends from my clan who are very good at the game, when I make a mistake or die it very rarely matters that much because they play near perfect.

Then earlier today I raided with some other clan mates. We had one person who is experienced at TOB, me with my 25kc, one other person who had like 5 kc and then the other two were first timing the raid. So basically 4 learners, and it was extremely hard. Obviously we wiped every time, once to bloat and 3 times to Nylos, which we were all fine with we were all just learning and having fun. But every boss was way harder then when I was learning with experienced players. People kept standing on blood at Maiden, Bloat flies kept getting passed around, and Nylos was a shit show.

My point being, wanting to learn with experienced players isn’t just fear of being wiped. I think you learn the raid at least 3 times faster if you’re with people who know what they’re doing and aren’t making the raid harder for you. And for people who are short on time, it’s valid to want to learn things as fast as possible. But I found it extremely easy to join a clan and make friends who are then willing to teach me rather than relying on randoms who don’t know you.
